Clearly, atheism is not a rational worldview. It is self-refuting because the atheist must first assume the opposite of what he is trying to prove in order to be able to prove anything. As Dr. Cornelius VanTil put it, “[A]theism presupposes theism.” Laws of logic require the existence of God—and not just any god, but the Christian God. Only the God of the Bible can be the foundation for knowledge (Proverbs 1:7; Colossians 2:3). Since the God of Scripture is immaterial, sovereign, and beyond time, it makes sense to have laws of logic that are immaterial, universal, and unchanging. Since God has revealed Himself to man, we are able to know and use logic. Since God made the universe and since God made our minds, it makes sense that our minds would have an ability to study and understand the universe. But if the brain is simply the result of mindless evolutionary processes that conveyed some sort of survival value in the past, why should we trust its conclusions? If the universe and our minds are simply the results of time and chance, as the atheist contends, why would we expect that the mind could make sense of the universe? How could science and technology be possible?

Rational thinking, science, and technology make sense in a Christian worldview. The Christian has a basis for these things; the atheist does not. This is not to say that atheists cannot be rational about some things. They can because they too are made in God’s image and have access to God’s laws of logic. But they have no rational basis for rationality within their own worldview. Likewise, atheists can be moral, but they have no basis for that morality according to what they claim to believe. An atheist is a walking bundle of contradictions. He reasons and does science, yet he denies the very God that makes reasoning and science possible. On the other hand, the Christian worldview is consistent and makes sense of human reasoning and experience.

I’ve always thought about corresponding geological and biological data out there to the bible since I researched on my blog article on the link between Noah’s flood and the Ice Age. Ever since then, I’ve been rethinking how old things are dated, or the timelines for the development of the universe and our planet. In my general biology class, our lab professor (who’s a botanist) mentioned they’ve found several living plants originally thought to be extinct.  However, this news article really is a better illustration of my eyebrow-raising skepticism at modern dating systems presuppositions:

 Ancient Fish

ZANZIBAR (Reuters) – Fishermen in Zanzibar have caught a coelacanth, an ancient fish once thought to have become extinct when it disappeared from fossil records 80 million years ago, an official said on Sunday.

Researcher Nariman Jidawi of Zanzibar’s Institute of Marine Science said the fish was caught off the tropical island’s northern tip.

“The fishermen informed us they had caught this strange fish and we quickly rushed to find it was a coelacanth,” he told Reuters, adding that it weighed 27 kg (60 lb) and was 1.34 meters long.

The coelacanth, known from fossil records dating back more than 360 million years, was believed to have become extinct some 80 million years ago until one was caught off the eastern coast of South Africa in 1938 — a major zoological find.

None has since been caught in South African waters, but around 30 have been caught in recent years off Tanzania, possibly because diminishing shallow-water resources have forced fishermen to cast their nets in the deeper waters where coelacanths live, experts say.

Coelacanths are the only living animals to have a fully functional intercranial joint, a division separating the ear and brain from the nasal organs and eye.

The unbeliever laughs to think we believe the earth was created in 6 days. The Christ-conquered (brainwashed) mind  of the believer finds it hilarious to think the unbeliever can say the opposite with a straight face in all-seriousness and sincerity. You found a 360 million year old species of fish, a fish that was thought to be extinct the last 80 million years, but who’s extinction was voided in 1938 and present day??? As usual it comes back to the presuppositions and consequential clash of entire worldviews.

What do I speculate? The fish seems old because it was a pre-flood fish that survived the flood. Of course that then dates the fish to less than a million years old (assuming the earth is less than a million years old as well), and most athiestic worldviews would reject the possibility immediately.

THe price and consequences of sexual immorality is high,  for those who practice the Homosexual life style as contrast to Christian abstinence:

“Gay and bisexual men accounted for 7 percent of syphilis cases in 2000 but more than 60 percent in 2005, CDC experts estimated.”

(SOURCE: Syphilis rise in gay, bisexual men cause worry)

And equally disturbing,

“More than a third of British homosexuals who are infected with the AIDS virus continue to have unprotected sex, according to a survey published on Tuesday.”

Most of the volunteers also provided a saliva sample for HIV testing, and the results showed that among those with the AIDS virus, only a third knew they had been infected.”

(SOURCE: Alarming Rates of Unsafe Sex Among HIV-infected British Gays)

And we are not even talking about the spiritual and conscience aspect of the devastating impact on an individual

If you are surfing by this blog and found this to be offending, I encourage you to read Romans Chapter One, beginning with Verse 18.

What has Thomas Huxley got to do with these 6 Sulawesi Monkeys?

tx1.jpg vs tx4.jpg

Thomas Henry Huxley was an English biologist and the chief proponent of Darwin’s theory of evolution. He is often referred to as “Darwin’s Bulldog” due to his aggressive defense of Darwin.

There was a debate between Huxley and Wilberforce (A British Mathematician), there is very little record of the debate, so little can be certain about actually happened. According to legend Huxley was asked to explain how all the apparent design in life could be the result of chance and responded with the following analogy:

If given an extremely long period of time, an infinite amount of ink, six monkeys who never die and six typewriters that never break. The monkeys would eventually type the complete works of Shakespeare.”

According to legend Wilberforce did not have a good objection to the analogy and that marked a great turn in the public opinion concerning evolution.

Let us Understand Huxley’s Analogy,

  • The universe is the paper and the ink
  • The monkeys are “random” external causal agents.
  • The input of the random forces is restricted by the laws of the typewriter which would correspond with the laws of nature.
  • The complete works of Shakespeare are supposed to be analogous to the complexity of life.

Let us put Huxley to the test

In an interesting experiment, Huxley’s idea was put to the test. A Plymoth University research team left a computer in the monkey enclosure at Paignton Zoo in southwest England, home to six Sulawesi crested Macaques named Elmo, Gum, Heather, Holly, Mistletoe and Rowan. Mike Phillips, who runs the university’s Institute of Digital Arts and Technologies, had the following comments concerning the results,

1. “The lead male got a stone and started bashing the hell out of it.”
2. “Another thing they were interested in was in defecating and urinating all over the keyboard.”

3. “The monkeys failed to produce a single word”

Conclusion

The chance god!

By the way, you can even buy the book written by Elmo, Gum, Heather, Holly, Mistletoe and Rowan titled, “Notes Towards the Complete Works of Shakespeare” for UK 25 pounds.
