Nicholas,
Why is that people are going off tangent from the post? Is there anything in this post that even talks about Greek Orthodoxy??
IF you want to rant about why you are not a protestant, do that in your blog. But Orthodox like yourself demonstrate ignorance when you talk about Josephus having well documented how the early church function. You can't even get your facts straight. Ignorance is not bliss my friend, as you yourself states.

Even if one accepts the reasoning of your rants it still does not answer anything. Why Orthodox? And which Orthodox? Why can it not be Catholicism instead, who often give similar arguments?

Whatever orthodoxy you subscribe to will be another conflicting source that stem from the many other churches that use the SAME argument and SAME approach of the reasoning displayed above, and has "brought nothing but confusion".

No wonder I can't be Orthodox or Catholic! There is nothing stable about all these confusion, only instability! May God have mercy upon you! Its pushy Orthodox like yourself who comment on something unrelated with muddled thinking and ad hoc circumstantial generalizations that pushes people away from your so called Orthodoxy.

I think we have been gracious enough, but this entry will now be more tightly regulated, instead of going off point.

One would do well to study the first 300 years of Christianity when there was JUST one church and NO Bible in print to see how the church did indeed function. The history is VERY well documented by Josephus, Eusebius, etc.

Protestantism is JUST 500 years old at best and is built from the Roman church. Protestants today dont even believe what the "reformation fathers" believed!

If so then Lutherans would still venerate Mary and burn Baptists at the stake. Also, some protestants have tried to prove a apostolic lineage such as the Baptists. In the mid 80's there was an aborted attempt to do just that but was indeed ended by the Southern Baptiist Commission (led by Dr Billy Graham himself) due to the argument being redicuously built upon unfounded claims!

I was an evangelical pastor who approached Orthodoxy with a lot of hostility! When I put in the time to find what it was that kept a church the same for 2,000 years and why I and my protestant friends could not agree on anything but the Pope is bad and Jesus is the son of God, I discovered a fearful truth...and now am Orthodox.

Ignorance is NOT bliss! All my theology from conflicting sources which stem from the 33,000 plus denominations of protestants brought nothing but confusion. And all 33,000 denominations ALL use the SAME Bible and with the SAME apprach 'Sola Scriptura'.

No wonder the world has begin to reject all Christianity. There is NOTHING evidently stable about it other than instabillaty! May God have mercy on us all!

Dear mea,

If you're asking if a muslim can justify denying their faith, the answer depends on which muslim you ask. I'm not sure how likely a muslim would deny their faith to be voted in office or how acceptable it would be, however, I do know that generally a muslim denying their faith for Jihad is acceptable.

In cases related to Jihad, it would not be unusual for undercover muslims waging Jihad to profess in another faith or do other things normally unacceptable as a muslim such as shaving their beard, eating or dressing differently, listening to western music or watching tv, and cursing.

Dear g-knee,

Your comment was encouraging, I'm glad the post is helping to clarify presuppositional apologetics.

If your questions are directly relevant to this post on the logic of scripture post a comment.

If the question is not directly related to this post's focus, leave a comment also. Although most likely, you may not get an answer or a very delayed answer for any question that requires an extended answer.
