This is still going on in 2007.
Some of the verses Islam justify in practicing this killing. Infact, such practice is compatible with the Islamic way of life. I wonder what our Muslim friends in America would say.
Book 017, Number 4212:
Ibn Umar reported that Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) stoned to death the Jews, both male and female, who had committed adultery. The Jews brought them to Allah’s Messenger (may peace he upon him). The rest of the hadith is the same.
Book 017, Number 4216:
Jabir b. ‘Abdullah reported that Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) stoned (to death) a person from Banu Aslam, and a Jew and his wife.
Book 020, Number 4483:
It has been narrated on the authority of Amir b. Sa’d b. Abu Waqqas who said: I wrote (a letter) to Jabir b. Samura and sent it to him through my servant Nafi’, asking him to inform me of something he had heard from the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him). He wrote to me (in reply): I heard the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) say on Friday evening, the day on which al-Aslami was stoned to death (for committing adultery): The Islamic religion will continue until the Hour has been established, or you have been ruled over by twelve Caliphs, all of them being from the Quraish. also heard him say: A small force of the Muslims will capture the white palace, the police of the Persian Emperor or his descendants. I also heard him say: Before the Day of Judgment there will appear (a number of) impostors. You are to guard against them. I also heard him say: When God grants wealth to any one of you, he should first spend it on himself and his family (and then give it in charity to the poor). I heard him (also) say: I will be your forerunner at the Cistern (expecting your arrival).
Actually, although I totally agree with you that these crimes are heinous, “honor” killings are believed to have their origins in misinterpretations of pre-Islamic Arab tribal codes. Thus, they pre-date Islam by centuries. And they are, in fact, un-Islamic.

ammani,
The verses were given below the video and picture. The act is given in the Quran and the Hadith. They are not misinterpretations. What other interpretation can there be? Please give the alternative in regards to the verses given.
I would like to see those who believe that honor killing and Islam are imcompatiable bring forth argument from the Koran or the Hadith.
Your argument from Koran and Hadith does not justify ‘honour’ killing, but stoning for adultery, which could also be justified from the Old Testament, and with greater ease. Of course stoning is an abomination (I believe the death sentence is an abomination), and stoning for a non-crime like adultery is even more so, but ‘honour’ killing is not always triggered by adulterous behaviour, but by being raped, by becoming the object of gossip, by refusing a arranged marriage, asking for divorce, reporting domestic violence… Stats from Lebanon and Palestine show proportionate representation of Christian minorities, and in the UK one third of ‘honour’ killing victims are Sikh/Hindu.
The subject matter is Honor Killing (The Way of Islam) but it has to go to the Old Testament. The next time someone brings up a non related issue we will be deleting the comment.
For the sake of argument, there is no justification for stoning in Christianity. There is no appeal from Scripture in regards to Honor Killing. But there are many direct quotes from the Quran and the Hadith.
Joanne,
there are many more verses from the Quran and the Hadith that what is posted on the blog for “Muslims” to justify the practice. You have not given a reason why it cannot be justified?
