As part of our Sunday posts calling people back to the church who are Christians, I want to begin this post by saying that I admit some situations are not easy.
But when was the last time you prayed for your circumstances with church? When was the last time you prayed for God to open up the opportunity for a biblical church to attend? Or even for the Lord to bring a new church plant?
I don’t know your situation. God does. Pray. Asks others to pray for you too! Ask us in the comments! But don’t forget to pray! God listens and hears the prayers that is His will–and being a part of a body and fellowship is part of His will!
Good post Jim, people need to get back to church
I hope the Lord will use this to draw people back to the church….and repenting back to God.
This is not only true of church but of life in general. Prayer is a restoration path for our Heavenly Father whereas complaining is a destabilization path for Satan. I am learning that our words have power regardless of whether they are spoken by faith to God or spoken in ignorance to the devil.
So totally true. God created the Universe by calling those things that are not as those they were, He spoke (whatever that looks like for Him) and being created in His image, our words carry power, for good or for evil.
May we genuinely seek the Lord and His help in our prayers rather than complain and sin.

Thanks for reblogging this!
You’re very welcome Brother!
Interestingly, our pastor is starting a series on the definition of church, and it’s powerful. Not just the building we attend, but that WE are the church, and the importance of assembling together.
Sounds like a great series
Great post.
Praise God! how are you Roy?
Doing better. Have never ceased to love Jesus but have been facing some tough relationship issues. God has been faithful through it all. Thank you brother for your prayers and support.
And don’t be too proud to ask others to pray for you. Church is a living organism and not an organization. One thin God taught me this winter is even if I find myself outside of the organization, the organism is everywhere and I’m always part of the church. Thanks for the prayers Jim.
Amen!!! That’s a very good point about asking for prayers, that was an encouragement for me to ask for prayers.
Excellent point and agree with joyindestructible. And…
Last night I was speaking with a woman who is in a dating relationship that is not going well. She gave example after example of the man’s boorish and indifferent behavior. She then made valid and convincing excuses for each thing he had done. Finally I stopped her, telling her that her thinking was not helpful and that her reasons were irrelevant. The man’s role is to love and treasure the wife. No matter what the circumstances. Why is she holding onto a male who is not even pretending to try to be a man?
I think the application to many visible “churches” is appropriate.
Sounds like a difficult counseling case you have there. The analogous nature of that situation does certainly apply to how some view things people put above Christ.
Thanks for the reminder, it is hard to pray for difficult people, but God is good and answers our prayers 😊
Amen!
