Pastor Jack Hughes preached a two part series on “Care and Maintenance of Faithful Preachers.” He’s planning to write a book on this topic. As he said in the beginning of the message, it might be awkward for pastors to preach on what the Bible teaches of how the church should treat its pastors. But the church’s relationship to her pastors should be given some thoughts and biblical examination.
I was blessed listening to it although I must admit Jack Hughes’ voice sometimes sound whiny.
Here’s the two messages that Hughes preached in London this summer:
Care and Maintenance of Faithful Preachers #1
The Care and Maintenance of Faithful Preachers #2
May this bless God’s people.

Thanks for the reblog!
you’re very welcome Brother 😎
Thanks, Jim. I listened to both messages. Good stuff! All congregations would benefit from hearing them…messages pastors would never preach.
Praise God! I was blessed to hear them as a Pastor myself. What he said was important and things one can’t really go around saying because it can sound very self-serving. God bless you Tom, hope you are having a good day!
Thanks, Jim! As my wife and I were walking into church yesterday I remarked to her that we are so blessed to have a solid church to attend. I imagine there are millions upon millions of believers who don’t have a solid church with a solid pastor. Lord bless you, Jim, as you lead His flock!
Praise the Lord! Your thoughts also made me realize that your pastor is also blessed to have church members who are solid. While I think the leadership and a solid pastor important, the serving members who are solid with a solid pastor is…beautiful. There can be true Christian unity. There is mutual edification for both sides! This makes me want to write a future posts on how Pastors are blessed with biblically solid and loving members. It was encouraging to hear you share your conversation with you and your wife about the church and pastor!
Yes, when the members are encouraging the pastor in the Lord – by taking the preaching to heart and putting the Word into action AND reaching out to the pastor in love and appreciation…
OK, I have some more work to do!!!
