In our age where everything is all washed with relativism I thought this clip from the TV show “E.R” was really illuminating that all the figment of imagination means nothing in light of one’s sin, guilt and death.
Watch it:
For those of you guys reading this and are in the ministry, what we are doing is important folks. We’re playing for keeps. Don’t forget we have the Gospel, the hope of forgiveness!

Thank you Vincent for reblogging this! I’ll have to enjoy your blog after a day of ministry first!
My pleasure Brother, praying for your ministry needs ☺
I once preached a sermon on hell at the prison I ministered at. At the end, I asked if anyone would like to accept Jesus as Lord. Immediately, the hand of the guard in the back shot up. That was a welcome surprise.
Wow praise God! Sometimes it seems those who work with difficult people can think they are “good” and therefore not in need of the Gospel, so I rejoice to hear this Patrick!
Love that clip. Love. It.
I’m glad I’m not the only one! Thanks for reblogging this too by the way! May the Lord bless your day (Reformation Day) tommorow!

Yes, never compromise with the gospel. Good message
Thanks. I hope I would never compromise for the rest of my ministry and it is my hope as a young preacher of the Gospel.
Let God be with you:)
A great gem! It’s the main issue at the core of everyone’s heart, whether they admit to it or not.
Have you seen this clip before? I saw this a while back and was blown away….you’re right this is the main issue at the core of everyone’s heart!
No, I never saw it before. Thanks for posting!

just excellent – thanks, Pastor Jim!
You’re welcome Maria! Thanks for the reblog. Did your church had anything on the Reformation this past Sunday? The Lord bless you and your blogging on God’s truth!
Thank you for the blessing and encouragement!
We missed worship yesterday, so I don’t know, but we never have celebrated that I know of. Have to remember this day here online.

Just excellent!
I’ve seen this before. It shows a basic misunderstanding of chaplaincy. I was a chaplain for many years. A chaplain is not a preacher or a missionary. The purpose of chaplaincy is to be a “compassionate presence,” listening and assisting people (believers and non-believers) in very difficult times. It is inappropriate for a professional chaplain to preach or proselytize in hospitals, prisons or shelters. What happened to “do unto others”? When requested, a good chaplain will be happy to find a pastor, priest, rabbi or imam for someone.

Thanks for posting this.
ER was a TV hit in the 90’s and that was during my own ER years as a nurse. I loved the show as it was the first medical drama that showed with some accuracy what goes on in a busy city emergency room. Just as it is medically unethical to lie to patients about their physical condition I feel it is unethical and unloving to lie to someone about their spiritual condition. You ARE going to die. And if you die without Jesus you ARE going to HELL. We are all one heartbeat, one blood clot, one accident away from eternity. The time for salvation is NOW.
Wow good analogy from your nursing experience for the spiritual reality. Thank you Alanakh! I like how you closed your comment with a call to salvation!
