As I’m going over this with a group of guys from my church I thought the following questions might be helpful for individuals and small groups to facilitate discussions and learning based upon the apologetics’ book “Ultimate Proof of Creation” by Jason Lisle. It is a book that teaches Presuppositional apologetics that engages apologetics at the level of worldview. Cornelius Van Til was instrumental in beginning this form of apologetics and others have developed and applied it.

Jim, You’re going to talk me into ordering this book from Amazon sooner than later if you keep this up! 🙂
LOL! I think that means we both like books. Actually the same kinds of books…
Yup, I think you’re right! I was putting off reading “God’s Word Alone: The Authority of Scripture” by Matthew Barrett, the third book in Zondervans’ The Five Solas series because I was dreading the back-breaking theology but after 50 pages I’m pleased as punch.
Wow I still need to get around to getting that one day. The Schreiner one in the series on justification really was super good. I recall that was one of our early discussion on here on WordPress…
Yes, Schreiner’s book was excellent! It was VanDrunen’s book on God’s Glory Alone that disappointed me because there was no context, no comparison of the Reformers’ teaching vs. Rome. I see the final two books, Grace Alone and Christ Alone, are due out April 18th.
Reblogged this on Talmidimblogging.
Thanks Vincent for the reblog! I hope you’re doing well
You’re very welcome Pastor Jim. I am Brother, logged in 30 miles for the week. no issues at all, praise God 😎 how are you holding up with all your ministry needs
Sounds kind of fun!
I think some presuppositional apologetics would go over well where I live. I can thing of some guys especially, that would really enjoy discussing those kinds of questions.
I imagine it would be helpful! If I remember correctly you live in the most secularized part of the United States!
Yep!
But there’s a group that has come for the past couple of years that actually stages an apologetics debate with Valerie Tarico. Valerie used to be a Christian, but now she is an evangelizing atheist, part of the “atheist church,” which is a real thing in my world.
I have an interesting relationship there, as in it was her followers who actually motivated me to look into apologetics and to learn more. Apparently I was making some sense because they got mad and said, “you are the worst apologetic ever!” and I promptly said, “I ain’t apologizing for nothing!”
That was the extent of my understanding. Today I sometimes call it “unapologetics” in memory of that moment.
