It’s Sunday! I know teaching, preaching and ministering is not always easy. Here is another short post providing you with the motivation from the Word of God for preachers before you enter your pulpit and teachers before you go in to instruct your class.
Today’s post comes from 2 Timothy 1:7:
For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.
Here’s a question based upon the verse:
Have you gone about serving the Lord knowing that God has given you a spirit of power?
In terms of the context of 2 Timothy 1:7, it is from an epistle that is part of the New Testament collection of “Pastoral Epistles.” Pastoral epistles refer to letters in the New Testament concerning the topic of leadership of the church and what God has to say to leaders of the church.
Here we see Paul remind a younger man in ministry name Timothy that God has given has given him a spirit of power. God’s given spirit of power is contrasted with what is not given, namely “a spirit of timidity.”
Go forward to preach and teach, believing that the power of the Holy Spirit is working within and through you!
