Sometimes people make an assertion that there’s a Bible contradiction from the Book of Proverbs but they assert their claims without considering the literary form of proverbial sayings. When one consider the nature of proverbs as “slice of reality” rather than an absolute statement to be applied in every instance I think we see there’s not a Bible contradiction.
Consider the following example from common English proverbs that people wouldn’t say are contradictory but each applies in different instances:
- “Many hands make light work” contrasts with “Too many chefs spoil the broth.”
- “It’s the early bird that catches the worm” contrasts with “All things come to those who wait” and “The second mouse gets the cheese.”
- “Absence makes the heart grow fonder” contrasts with “Out of sight, out of mind.”
- “Great… minds think alike” contrasts with “Fools seldom differ.”
- “Opposites attract” contrasts with “Birds of a feather flock together.”
- Ever wonder why if “action speaks louder than words”, the “pen is mightier than the sword”?

Good points, Jimmy. The Bible must be interpreted in its entire context.
Amen; so much of contextual considerations remove the basis for interpretations that claims to have Bible contradictions.
The early worm gets EATEN by the bird, LOL!
Yes! Thanks, Pastor Jim!
All scripture is God breathed. Therefore all scripture properly understood can be reconciled with seemingly contrary scripture. It is bad hermenutics to claim that one inspired verse trumps another inspired verse. God cannot contradict Himself. He is not the author of confusion.
Every time I read something that makes no sense I always discover I interpret it wrongly. God is indeed the source of wisdom and logic.
You’re very welcome Pastor Jim 😎 Amen; so much of contextual considerations take out the fundament for interpretations that claims to ingest Bible contradictions.
Context is so important with how we interpret God’s Word
