This past weekend there was a Theology Conference hosted by Reformed Forum and this year the subject is on the Reformation of Apologetics which focuses a lot on how Reformed Theology shapes apologetics’ methodology and Presuppositional apologetics.
Here’s a description of the conference from their website:
This year marks the five-hundredth anniversary of the beginning of the Reformation. Yet 2017 also marks the thirtieth anniversary of the death of Cornelius Van Til. In this conference, we will seek to demonstrate how Van Til consistently applied the theological principles of the Reformation to apologetics. We will then proceed to argue that covenantal apologetics, best exemplified by Van Til, is the necessary development and true heir of the Reformation.
Here are the messages in its order (note: the Youtube page has it out of order):
The Problem of Thomistic Foundations for Apologetics (Scott Oliphint)
Covenantal, Not Classical (Scott Oliphint)
Apologetics and the Five Solas (Live recording of Christ the Center)
Revelation, Reason, and Evidence in Acts 17:30–31 (Lane Tipton)
The Reformation of Apologetics: Retrospect and Prospect (Camden Bucey)

Thanks, Jim. I’m looking forward to listening to the Oliphint’s talk on Thomism. I’m saddened by such evangelicals as Norman Geisler who put Aquinas on a pedestal, which has contributed a great deal to ecumenism. Sadly, R.C. Sproul is highly complimentary of Aquinas as well. I hope Oliphint keeps it simple for us Theology 101 types!
I have yet to watch the video myself as I was up most of the night reading for a discipleship I had early morning and also have another pastoral visitation in a bit…how is thus far?
Ach, things not going as planned for me today. Will be listening to it tomorrow. Looking forward to it, actually.
Were any professors from Moody or Wheaton invited to speak?
Unfortunately there wasn’t…are there professors in apologetics you enjoyed from those institutions?
