It’s going to be a busy weekend of ministry for me with our annual church clean up on Saturday while on Sunday I’m also preaching at another church after I’m done with my local church’s own church service. In the middle of it all that I need to finish my sermon preparation. So this is a quick post.
I realized I read 80 Books In 43 Weeks. I keep track because of my new years resolution. Now granted some of those books were fun reading but a lot were spiritual readings.
Over at Reddit Christians Blog I’ve posted “How to Read More Books When Life Gets Busy.” It is adapted from a previous post I have written on here before but the editor over at Reddit Christians Blog have done a tremendous service in editing my draft and fixing my grammar. I appreciated that a lot since grammar is something which I struggle with.
Have a blessed weekend!
Wow! That is a lot of books. Hope you are doing well brother. Have a great day!
I’m doing well, blessed to study God’s Word and to proclaim Christ, the Gospel and the truth of Scripture. Thanks for dropping by! How are you doing by the way?
Good advice, Jim, although I’m one of those nerdy introverts who doesn’t need any prompting. My wife and our two sons are not readers and never were and that always struck me as strange. For them, to sit down and read a book was a great deal of work and not something enjoyable. Yup, there are some very edifying materials out there for Christians – and also lots of garbage. A believing friend is a voracious reader and every time we visit her house she has a new book on the coffee table written by a TBN shyster.
There are so many things out there…good and bad. We need each for discernment as the recent case this week was a good example; Amen?
Amen. Yes, we’re seeing some disappointing stuff from sources we thought should have known better.
Jim, thank you for sharing what works for you. Blessings for your ministry tomorrow.
You’re welcome! And one of those books I enjoyed reading earlier this year was your book!
Thank you again, Jim. Blessings for a new week.
Do you ever sleep?
LOL I do brother, thanks for asking Wally! I hope things are well with you?
Well, like you brother Jim, I have a tendency to take on more than I ought to! A couple of us finally convinced our pastor to slow down a little bit and get folks do take on some things. Eh..the only problem is he will go to the ones who will do what he asks. Sooooooooo, you get the picture. Also, I have one more week of devotionals to write for my assignment for our devotional quarterly. I want to be done a month before deadline, so I have time to look them over before I submit. And yes, I also find time in there to sleep LOL
