As I’m going over this with a group of guys from my church I thought the following questions might be helpful for individuals and small groups to facilitate discussions and learning based upon the apologetics’ book “Ultimate Proof of Creation” by Jason Lisle. It is a book that teaches Presuppositional apologetics that engages apologetics at the level of worldview. Cornelius Van Til was instrumental in beginning this form of apologetics and others have developed and applied it.
For discussion questions for previous chapters click on the following:
The questions in this post will be for chapter 5 of the book. Each question is followed by page numbers in parenthesis where the answer can be found.
Chapter 5
- What are four truths we must remember from chapters one through four? (91-92)
- What is the twofold apologetic procedure? (93-94)
- How are worldviews similar to kidneys and in what further ways can we understand the task of apologetics from this? (94)
- Does the order of the twofold apologetic procedure matters? What is your own preference or experience in terms of which to begin first? (94)
- What is the “AIP” test that serves as checklist for an internatl critique of unbiblical worldview? (94-97)
- What does arbitrary mean and what question can we use with someone who asserts an arbitrary claim? (94-96)
- What is inconsistency and what are some examples? (96)
- What are the four common types of arbitrariness and how can we respond to each? (97-100)
- What are the four common types of inconsistencies? (100-101)
- What are three more preconditions that unbelieving worldviews cannot account for? (102-105)
May the Lord bless those studying Presuppositional apologetics!
I think you’re slowly turning me into a presuppositionalist! 🙂
LOL. I think that’s a good thing! Have you read anything about it in summary form?
No I haven’t but I’m getting an education from your posts!
