As I’m going over this with a group of guys from my church I thought the following questions might be helpful for individuals and small groups to facilitate discussions and learning based upon the apologetics’ book “Ultimate Proof of Creation” by Jason Lisle. It is a book that teaches Presuppositional apologetics that engages apologetics at the level of worldview. Cornelius Van Til was instrumental in beginning this form of apologetics and others have developed and applied it.

The questions in this post will be for chapter 6 of the book. Each question is followed by page numbers in parenthesis where the answer can be found.
Chapter 6
- What is the first appropriate use of scientiific and historical evidences in apologetics? (108)
- What does the word “confirm” mean in Jason Lisle’s specific use of the term? (108)
- What are some examples of science being consistent with biblical creation? (108)
- Again what must we understand in order to make sure we are not talking past each other in the debate over origins? (109)
- What is the second role of evidences in Christian apologetics? Give an example of how this works.(109-110)
- What are two modest beginning goals of pointing out creationist’s interptation of the data? (110)
- What is the third role of evidences in Christian apologetics? Give an example. (110-112)
- What is the fourth role of evidences in Christian apologetics? (111)
- What questions can you ask to bring it back to the ultimate proof? (111)
- What is one way we can use evidences inappropriately and how do we discern when we use rightly or wrongly? (114)
- What can we learn from David and Goliath for the purpose of apologetics? (115-116)
May the Lord bless those studying Presuppositional apologetics!
One of these days I’m going to order this.
Tom, I’ve ordered this book for guys at my church and for guys online that wanted to understand Presuppositional apologetics; I would love to order this book for you via Amazon, seriously!
I really appreciate your offer, thank you brother, but I can’t put you out that way. Tell you what, though, I just downloaded the Kindle version so I’m looking forward to starting on it shortly.
Reblogged this on Talmidimblogging.
Thanks for all the reblog you logged on our blog, including this one Vince-Dogg!
It’s truly my pleasure Pastor Jim-Dogg 😎👍
Will have to spend some time working through your posts. Teaching Genesis to my church. After 3 weeks, we just finished up Genesis 1:1-2. 🙂
Awesome book. I read his other books too and this one is one of his best. His ld earth vs. young earth book is pretty good too.
I may have to order this book. I spend a bit of time at more than one FB site dealing with origins and I’m always cautious not to use the word “proof.” I know we have evidence just like those who disagree with us… but proof? I’m very curious.
I personally think this is one of the better books out there in terms of the method and approach both in terms of being biblically faithful and also in terms of logical challenge against unbelief. But it seems counter-intuitive at first but I do believe once one grasp Jason Lisle’s argument it is very powerful; let me know if you want me to order this for you =)
Thank you, Pastor Jim, and thank you for your kind offer. I think I will order a copy for myself. I do like to know the arguments on both sides of this issue. I’ve not heard of Mr. Lisle but I look forward to finding out more about his thoughts on the subject. 🙂
[…] 6.) Discussion Guide: The Ultimate Proof of Creation Chapter 6 […]
I’m a pastor and elder with almost 15 years teaching High School and College level sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy, etc.) and a master’s degree in theology & apologetics.
I agree whole-heartedly with you. This book is one of THE BEST for teaching this method of apologetics (which, I would argue, is the correct method of apologetics). I am currently teaching a class on apologetics, and this is the main text for the class. Also…I’m stealing some of your discussion questions to use in the class!
So blessed to see other pastors being faithful to “equip the saints for the work of the ministry” in this area. May the Lord bless you, brother!
