Here’s a doctoral dissertation that Southern Seminary has made available titled “The world in His hands: a Christian account of scientific law and its antithetical competitors.” For those of you who are into worldview apologetics this is a treat! The dissertation was written by Chris Bolt and was completed on October 27th, 2016. Christ Bolt has written quite a bit on apologetics online over the years so its neat to see his dissertation is available online for free.
Here’s an abstract:
This dissertation examines the Christian doctrine of divine providence and its implications for the laws of nature and problem of induction before contrasting secular and Islamic approaches to these same topics.
Chapter 1 introduces the topic of a Christian account of scientific law by citing recent developments in an old understanding of a false dichotomy between religion and science.
Chapter 2 discusses several ways the Christian doctrine of divine providence can be positively explained.
Chapter 3 highlights theologians, apologists, and scientists in history who have understood the doctrine of divine providence as a basis for science.
Chapter 4 focuses on the character of the laws of nature.
Chapter 5 discusses the history of the problem of induction, including potential solutions.
Chapter 6 acknowledges that even though the doctrine of divine providence, laws of nature, induction, and hence science appear best suited to a Christian worldview, some further issues, such as miracles and competing monotheistic models remain.
Chapter 7 concludes the dissertation. This chapter summarizes the arguments made throughout the dissertation.
Sending this to my friend who teaches worl view at a Christian Homeschool .Thanks.
Wow thank you Beverly for sharing this, I’m blessed to know that. God bless you and may you have a blessed day!
Reblogged this on Talmidimblogging.
Thank you for sharing this brother Vincent!
You’re very welcome Pastor Jim 😎
Hi how are you?
I’m doing well, how are you brother?
That’s good i’m ok. I still miss my loved that died but I know I will see them again.
Did I tell you by the Grace of God I shared the gospel at the funeral but it was all Him!
I remembered you shared that in your post; praise be to God for that! That is always an opportunity
Amen I forgot about that so much going around the world. I heard a while back the unregenerate people in Hawaii were and or are putting out alcohol as an offering to the pagan goddess pele because of the volcano erupting my response are you kidding me! They need Jesus and Worship The One Who created them. We also need to keep our Born Again Brothers and Sister in Christ in Hawaii in prayer.
I agree always an opportunity to share the Gospel! You know what I said when it it comes to Mormons?
What did you say? Were those in the funeral consisting of Mormons?
No I said to the Lord once I never want to talk to Mormons outside in the heat what does He do have me talk to Mormons outside in the heat but it was all Him!
Everybody after the funeral said I should be an Associate Pastor and thanking me but it was all Him He just used a Redeemed sinner who at times stutters and other things to share the Gospel.
Does your blog work? Just a stranger clicking on your link and hope you are doing well with the death of your love one
Yes my blog works
Thank you I’m good if you want to read my testimony it’s up to you
Do you have a direct link to your testimony? Have you talked to your pastor about your desire to enter the pastoral ministry (if you desire that)?
https://bibleprophecywatch.wordpress.com/
No I haven’t talked to my Pastor I should pray about it. I was talking to someone I know they said I don’t have to be a Pastor to preach the Gospel or something like that. Don’t men have to go to college to become a Pastor?
Most pastor in the West usually have a college degree and certain groups of churches require a degree from seminary (graduate school). If you believe God might be calling you to go into ministry I recommend reading Charles Spurgeon’s book “Lectures to my Students” especially the part on calling.
Ok what does he say? Did Spurgeon go to college to be a Pastor?
Spurgeon actually never went to college though he started a famous school called Pastors College. Spurgeon studied and read a lot on his own. I recommend his book to every young man that tells me he is thinking about ministry because he goes over very practically about knowing if you are called
Ok I did not know that about him I think.
Isn’t it true that if someone is a Born Again Christian like us they are not strangers but family in Christ?
“Isn’t it true that if someone is a Born Again Christian like us they are not strange”
You are right brother sorry. I meant we haavent met in person, God bless you
That’s ok brother we will never meet on earth but we will in heaven. God Bless you too did you read my testimony just wondering.
