This is a Free E Book by Diane Poythress. She is the wife of Christian scholar Vern Poythress. Vern Poythress is one of the rare individual who is a genius; while he is a New Testament professor he’s one of those guys that knows a lot and is down to earth about it. He’s written on a Christian view of hermeneutics, logic, math, language, science and of course the Bible. But enough about Vern; there’s a free electronic version of a book written by his wife.
Titled “My Child, His Child ” the book is an exposition of the Ten Commandments and their fulfillment in Christ and the book’s description even says “The book illustrates applications to life as only a mother could do.”
Here’s the link to the PDF.

Thanks for passing along this free e-book! I scanned it quickly and it looks good.
Glad to hear you downloaded it! Good books are nice but free good E-books is better! Now to figure out the time of when I will around to reading it…
Never enough time and come across more good books all the time. I went into Barnes and Noble on Saturday to get out of the heat. Rarely do they have a book I want but this time they had two! I checked the library to see if they had copies but no go.
thanks for the post!
I will be using this as part of my sermonic research for an upcoming sermon over the 10 commandments (currently preaching through Exodus).
Wow glad to hear that you are preaching through Exodus with your church! I don’t think there’s many Churches going through Exodus. I hope this book is helpful. What commentaries are you using that you recommend from your preparation and studies in Exodus?
I am using Calvin, Keil and Delitzsh, and Robert Alter’s “The Five Books of Moses: Translation and Commentary.” Occasionally I will look at the Expositors Bible Commentary by Walter Kaiser Jr.
So far I’ve preached through (in this order) Acts, Genesis, Luke, 1 Samuel, Philippians, 2 Samuel, 1 John, Obadiah, and now I am working through Exodus.
My goal is to preach a “survey” of the whole Scripture in around 10-12 years.
This looks like an awesome book, thank you brother! I can’t wait to read it!
What I think is cool about this book is that it is from the perspective of a mother!
Very interesting reading !
Thank you so much.
Blessings
You’re welcome sister Crissy! Whenever I see free good books I gotta share it with others, it is a “buy none, get one free” offer!
We should have more “buy none get one free offer”. 😃
Shalom !
Going to download it to read it! Glad you shared this!
Parents need to parent biblically. Not to mention that government schools are literally unsafe for children, thanks to alphabet soup ideology.

I thank God for my parents 🙏🏾 They taught me many lessons: how to love, how to earn respect and how to give it. They instructed me to work hard so that I could create the life that I wanted to live and many other commendable traits. However the one that sticks with me the most is “If you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say nothing!” My mom told me that the tongue is a sword! Nothing is to be gained by tearing someone else down! I don’t have any enemies and I never will because I’ll always be willing to be the bigger person and walk away. I know my strength and it’s astronomical 🙏🏾🦾❤️ God don’t play about me! Although my time is scarce, when I come around it’s because I am doing so willingly because I want to spend time with those that I love whom love me back 💕 I’ve never cursed out a family member nor spoken negatively about anyone despite what others have done and said about me for simply chasing my dreams (I’ll NEVER Stop) 😁 My #1 priority for the last 18 years has been my children, whom barely know my mothers side of the family because I don’t feel that it’s a safe emotional environment for them and it’s extremely sad! As I continue to pray for everyone at this time of OUR loss, I will also pray that God has the last say in warming everyone’s heart with more empathy and compassion for each other 🤗🥰❤️
I’ve never seen this! For such a lawless time
Like anything else in life, parenting is an acquired skill gained from diligent practice in following the Scriptures. You can teach yourself much using online available resources like this one. May the Holy Spirit graciously teach you as you diligently apply yourself!
From your blog I see you are SO deeply aware of those things that matter most: God and family. That’s amazing. Most women my age don’t have a clue. They think it’s about tons of “stuff” and lots of money (and prestige with societal achievement). And the males my age are immature.

I like to go in a bookstore look at everything, then leave. Too expensive. But I love free Christians books online
The narrow path requires that you do away with every load of sin, worldliness, self and Satan, but if you do not, these forces will hinder you from running the race and weigh you down and make you stumble.
“Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race is set before us”(Heb 12:1).
The grace and power to remain focus on the right path which is narrow way, i pray God shall grant us all in Jesus name.
This is a sight to behold I’m thankful to be able to find free ebooks on here
I thought this was By Vern Poythress for like 2 seconds
I really appreciate reading that from an older Christian sister
This post alone is why I like your blog. The L-RD is kind and I look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship!
You have lots of reviews on here. But there’s one missing you should consider. I love The Ology. Wonderful way to teach theology!
Simply beautiful. And it’s available for free too! What joy! Thanks for sharing.
