I want to make a bite size memorable witty ditty to make a point memorable.
Sometimes people think they will only become godly and lovely once they meet someone they love and they are in a relationship with that individual.
But is it union with someone in courtship or marriage that makes us bear the fruit of the Spirit?
Here’s a little rhyme to drive the point home:
We often believe that we bear the fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, faithfulness, etc) when we find union with someone we love who’s nice,
Maybe a boyfriend, girlfriend, a husband or a wife,
But Biblically we bear the fruit of the Spirit because of our Union with Christ.
Singles, pursue godliness now even before you meet your spouse. God hasn’t neglected you! The same resource for your spiritual growth and maturity is available to you too, through your union with Christ!

Good witty ditty, thanks! We’re all looking for true love and can only find (and give) that in Christ. I have a similar thought in my post for today…kinda sorta, at the end.
Amen the love we look fore can ultimately be only found in Christ! I’ll eventually get around to reading your post and I will be looking forward to it in light of your comment. Hey what do you think of spicy Mexican food?
Oh, I’m a big fan of spicy Mexican! The first Mexican restaurant came to Rochester in the late 60s. I got a few ideas and we had Mexican at home about every 1-2 weeks when the boys were growing up. Now maybe once every 2 months. Do you like Mexican, also?
I do! I like street tacos in Southern California and I love the way they prepare fresh guacamole at authentic Mexican restaurant where they chop it up and prepare it right in front of you! Have you ever had it like that? There’s also a really good fish taco place near my church that many of our guys enjoy, I love the hot sauces to go with them and some lime…and the best Mexican food that’s good is in the hood! LOL
Never had freshly-made quacamole, but I’m not a huge fan for some reason. Like just a little bit on my Chipotle burrito. Yeah, forty years ago the only authentic Mexican restaurant here was in the hood. Then they moved to the suburbs and Anglicized the menu.
The Holy Spirit works thru us to bear the fruit. We cannot do it alone. Ty for ditty.:)
Hey Bonnie! Amen it is the Spirit working through us. When we realize being godly and virtuous is a gift from God that makes us humble in our godliness and thankful rather than self-righteous and Pharisaical. His grace is amazing and being saved is already amazing, but to think of how it sanctifies? Its gifts upon gifts Amen?
Amen. :))

Well said, Jim!
Thanks RG, sometimes I have these sudden short rhymes when I preach or when I sit down and when I write so I try to write down some of them down for later. I hope you are doing well today in the Lord both physically, spiritually and other ways (strength).
I am Jim. Thank you.
Love this..
Thanks! I hope you are having a blessed Saturday (I assume its Saturday still where you’re at…)
