Pastor Alex Montoya has been instrumental in God shaping how I preach and also with wisdom concerning pastoral ministry. He’s to me the Hispanic Charles Spurgeon and I lament that he’s retired from teaching in seminary.
Last week he’s recently taught for a Seminary Winterim session on the passion of preaching. In a one week intensive course he taught a future generation of those entering ministry on homiletic (how to preach).
I thought I share them with viewers to help preachers and those who are teachers.
Here are the videos:
Never heard of him but he is someone who should be known!
Many here are not preachers but we are ministers. Ty.:)
Amen the BIble teaches the priesthood (ministers) of all believers! I know I have found him helpful even before I was a pastor or went to seminary. God bless you sister and thank you for reblogging this!
Thank you.

Sounds like a great minister!
I think so! I use to hear him on the radio and he and John MacArthur was instrumental to my salvation. By the way I plan to pick up reading your comics sometime this week, but first I got some ministry obligations…
I understand. Thanks Jim!
Thanks! I’m going to play one of these at work tomorrow.
I wish more preachers would listen to him and his teaching. I think some preachers think being boring is next to holiness. But that ought not to be; we are to be passionate about God’s truth when we preach and teach. Have a good rest of the day before work tomorrow!
I’ve enjoyed listening to videos of Montoya that you’ve posted previously.
Thanks and have a good rest of the day yourself! It’s R&R time now with some good reading ahead of me until lights out. 😊 How’s your back feeling?
My back is so much better! The worst was last week where for two days on a scale of 1-10 it felt like an 8. But now its a 2. How is your wife doing and how are you doing taking care of her?
Glad your back is better. My wife is progressing nicely, thanks! She’s still using a walker. Started outpatient physical therapy last week. We’ve got our caregiver-patient routine down pat at this point. It takes a good degree of patience on the part of both. Thanks.
I can’t fathom how you are able to process, analyze and synthesize so much information…
I mean, you publish so much stuff and reviews and cover a vast terrain of knowledge.
Thank you for posting this. We pray that there are ministers who will watch these. We are blessed with such a minister, passionate about God’s Word, about Christ and His church. Blessings and passion for your worship and the Word as you prepare.
I just prayed there will be ministers watching this and be edified and equipped or being reminded of the calling and the skills to feed His people. I hope your pastor would preach an edifying sermon this upcoming Lord’s day!
Thank you, Jim. And yes, he will. He has just started to preach through the gospel of Luke. The first four verses centered on the importance of God’s Word.
