Let us pray for Sri Lanka. According to the news:
Six nearly simultaneous explosions struck three churches and three hotels frequented by tourists on Easter Sunday in Sri Lanka,
As of right now 137 people have been murdered and many more injured.
The targets include hotels and churches.
Let’s pray.
May our Dear Lord Jesus return soon, to put an end to all this madness.
Amen. Thank you sister, it touched me to see your quick comment of prayer right after I posted this. May the Lord bless your Resurrection Sunday.
Jesus lives….He did rise on the first day of the week….He is alive.
Praying now Jim. Terrible.
What a horrifying news that reminds us what churches elsewhere have to face on Resurrection Sunday outside of North America. This actually made me tear up and prayed for people to come to know Christ. May the Lord bless your Resurrection Sunday. I again prayed for you to be a light and witness in the difficult context you minister and showing love to those around you.
Yes, I will pray for the souls in Sri Lanka.
It’s already emotional for me to see persecution at that part of the world; even more emotional to see this act of terrorism. I pray people really come to know Christ in the midst of this unfortunate horror. May we focus on Christ and His work of loving grace…
Amen!
Man, this is awful
I gotta admit, I teared up…and prayed right away. I feel as I grow older I tear up so much more quickly than when I was younger seeing the tragedy caused by evil. I’m going to go to my church service soon and this is going to be part of my opening pastoral prayer….
Father, we that your Shalom will rest on this Island in Jesus name.
Amen. Thank you Rita for your prayers, I pray for God’s grace and Gospel to be advanced for Shalom to be known by the people there.
Amen
Amen!!
Yes— we join in fervent prayer for our brothers and sisters in Christ — thou man may destroy the flesh of man— our souls will always remain with Christ in His Resurrection
Amen Julie. I’m about to go to our church service soon and this is going to be part of my pastoral prayer. We pray weekly for the persecuted church in that part of the world, and hearing about a terrorist attack like this one prompted me to pray even more.
That is great Jim because global Christian persecution seems to fall off everyone’s radar here in the US, even many of our own chruches
So sad. We will pray that God will comfort and strengthen them. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your prayers Beverly. I pray also that more people would come to know Christ and His grace through this unfortunate event…definitely should make us appreciate more the truth of the hope we have with a future resurrection in light of Resurrection Sunday doesn’t it?
I am praying brother. I heard this right before I left for sunrise service. What a shameful act on Resurrection Sunday.
Blessings, grace and peace.
I’ll be praying for this in my church pastoral prayer in opening service this morning…definitely should make us appreciate more the truth of the hope we have with a future resurrection in light of Resurrection Sunday doesn’t it?
This world is in such amess. Come soon Lord Jesus!
Maranatha! Such a mess…definitely should make us appreciate more the truth of the hope we have with a future resurrection in light of Resurrection Sunday doesn’t it?
In prayer. :*(
The prayers of the saints are very precious in times like this. Thank you Maw Maw for your prayers. God bless your Resurrection Sunday!
To you also, SweetGrandson of the Heart.:)
Reblogged this on RG's 2 Cents Studios and commented:
Prayers sent.
It was interesting to me, that (when I went to the original article) I wasn’t allowed to share to FaceBook and Twitter on that site. Their buttons just wouldn’t work.
Thank you for this post, Jim.
That’s very interesting; sounds like censorship from the big tech companies. Thank you for reblogging this though
You are most welcome!
Terrible situation in Sri Lanka. I have written a blog about how we should respond to this attack. Have a read and let me know what you think
Pakistan and China have a history of hegemonic designs and terror support policy. Off late a large exchange between Colombo, Islamabad and Beijing were taking place, and Sri Lankan leadership was very happy about this achievement. But yesterday’s cowardly and ghastly attacks on innocent worshippers have exposed this axis of evil. Our prayers are with those bereaved families.

Thank you Jim for the call to prayer and thank you all for the prayers, love and concern for the people of my land. It’s like a bad dream from which we will soon awake. We hold firm in faith and cling to the Risen Lord. May the souls of those snatched away in worship – and those celebrating this holiest of days be with Him this day in paradise.
Wow are you from Sri Lanka? How are people in your country handling all of this presently? Still praying concerning this horrifying incident.
Slowing awakening from the bad dream and trying to absorb the magnitude of this reality. As if the terror was not enough, we are learning now that there was a major lapse in security so Anger is joined with shock. Local and overseas intelligence and even the leader of the Muslim Congress (umbrella org, for all Muslims) had warned authorities that dissidents and a breakaway faction of jihadist youth were planning to attack churches and he had named suspects too.
There is relief that that there are peace loving Muslims too.
This act and scale of the tragedy has made all religions come together in an unprecedented manner in the last few hours
And there is a united clamour for answers as politics had intervened in security issues. …
We need to pray for peace and for unselfish and wise leaders.
Thanks for your concern.
Rambling Rose,
I hope for your safety and those you love. This has united Christians around the world everywhere for you.
Thank you so much May … these are indeed words of comfort. 😍
I hope things are ok now in Sri Lanka…
Just prayed.
Continue to Pray for us, please. This is the most unfortunate situation here in my country. We are in dire need of your prayers
Wow thank you for your comment on the situation; I’m praying for you and Sri Lanka. That’s crazy to see how the bombings was so close to you. I hope you didn’t lose anybody you know or love from the bombings? Please take care of yourself
We did lose few good known individuals. Known or unknown, they were innocent lives. I myself was so close to death, but God has left me for something. Thank You so much for your prayers, we need them.
Wow glad you survived there is a reason God still has for you for living His will
