Edit: If you like this book check out our review of volume 5!
I haven’t done our blog’s “wee-kids Wednesdays” lately but here’s this week’s review of Children’s books. While this week’s review of children’s books aren’t Christian works they are still something homeschool kids and parents would appreciate!
Geronimo Stilton. Geronimo Stilton Reporter #4: The Mummy With No Name. New York, NY: Papercutz, January 28th 2019. 56 pp.
4 out of 5

Looking for more fun with the mouse reporter Geronimo Stilton and his family and friends? This is my favorite volume out of four thus far in the “Geronimo Stilton Reporter” series published by Papercutz.
This story first takes place with Geronimo Stilton’s nephew Benjamin being on a field trip with his school at the Museum about ancient Egypt. A kid wandering around saw someone that looked like a mummy and went screaming back to his classmates which caused quite a commotion. Later Benjamin goes over to his uncle Geronimo Stilton and tells him about it and urges his uncle to investigate as a possible news story since Geronimo is a news reporter. Reluctantly Geronimo agrees and his sister Thea and cousin Trap joins along for the adventure!
There were some twists and turns and suspense that I really enjoyed in this graphic novel; my daughters were committed with their full attention as I read it to them and they were literally off the edge of their seat when I read it to them. I love that this story is a mystery with mystery one on who was the person dressed up as a mummy and secondly why was the treasure or prize the “mummy” was after? Readers will find out in the end!
The illustration for this book was well done. My girls enjoyed it.
NOTE: This book was provided to me free by Papercutz and Net Galley without any obligation for a positive review. All opinions offered above are mine unless otherwise stated or implied.
Cute!
It was! Don’t worry it isn’t occultic, the person they discover pretending to be a Mummy is a person and they are trying to figure out why that person would be doing that. These days its hard to find appropriate children’s book! I imagine that’s the same situation in Australia?
Good to know it isn’t occultic
The same here. Its a sign of the times we live in. I hope all is well with you.
Look like fun! As a kid, I was really attracted to ancient Egypt/mummy horror stories! Hey, maybe the Holy Spirit was prepping me for the Exodus narrative! I’m still waiting for another comics review from you. Today, I’ll be posting the first of two drafts about DC’s ambitious pre-launch of the Legion.
Wow interesting thought: ” Hey, maybe the Holy Spirit was prepping me for the Exodus narrative!” Maybe it was the same for me too, my childhood fascination with ancient Egypt! I’m hoping to post some comics review next week or this week too! I’ll be looking forward to your Legion review! For now I’m going to try to walk in the rain…are you walking in the snow today?
I walked the dog in the AM and the snow has melted in the backyard so I was able to use the leafblower and got my steps up to 7.3K.
I find it simply amazing how much content you are able to produce… Staggering.
Aww that means a lot hearing this from you with your blog! By the way are you planning to review any where to eat in the San Gabriel valley?
It’s a bit far. I live in Van Nuys. Is that where you live? We should share a coffee one day.
Thanks for sharing this review SlimJim ☺️. I’m glad to hear this was a good book.
Awesome! I also enjoy watching their cartoon version on Netflix (before I canceled the subscription).
Awesome! I also enjoy their cartoon version (currently on Netflix). I watched a couple episodes before I canceled my Netflix subscription. The book version is also neat because it often includes cool trivia and historical facts.
Opps, I posted it twice. I didn’t see the post the first time so reposted but I think it was just a bit laggy
Thanks for these reviews, Jim. I’ve started getting these books as birthday presents for my grandkids.
Aww I’m touched hearing this. How are you holding up?
A little better. My parents seem to be comfortable now. I’m trying to put together a workable drawing and writing schedule. Thanks for asking.
This is going to be the birthday gift for my little boy so he can have a fun summer reading at home!
I love Geronimo Stilton so much! I buy some for me 😂😂😂
Book is sooo good!!!
