This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Share the Gospel.
This passage stood out to me. Hear Mark 16:15: “And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” The command here is of what the church is suppose to do. Yet sometimes there are people who are not saved who do attend our churches. Do you know who they are? Have you thought about the opportunity to share the Gospel to them?
Don’t just think this is something the preachers are to do. Yes the Pastor should preach the Gospel every week. But you also have the privilege of sharing the Gospel to these individuals!
Again remember Mark 16:15. We are suppose to go preach the Gospel all over the world. Yet don’t forget those who are not saved who are in the midst of the Church! While we are called to “fish” out in the World, sometimes God allows us to fish within the “Aquarium” called the Church.
Practically speaking ask the person “Where are you with spiritual matters?” Or even more direct: “Where are you with Christ?” and “Where are you with trusting in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?”
Listen to them after you ask.
As they speak pray. Pray for them. Pray for the opportunity to plant seeds in a meaningful way.
Look for the opportunity to clarify what the Gospel means. Sometimes its helpful to even ask point blank: “Let’s say you are the pastor who preaches God’s Word; what would you say the message of Jesus Christ is about?” Listen and be ready to affirm what’s true, correct what’s a misunderstanding and drive home the need of the Gospel.
Do you feel scared that the person will not receive it well? Such an individual is at church; it is reasonable to expect someone to talk about spiritual matters about God and Jesus! So don’t be caught up in fear, realize its what the Church is about: God, Jesus and the Gospel.

Hello
Hello! May the Lord bless your Sunday!
You as well
Now here is a good word. Let’s talk about Jesus today and the good news He brings.
Thanks for speaking the truth.
I was once an unsaved church member so I appreciate the need for this kind of evangelism. The church was liberal in its theology and I don’t recall that the pastor ever presented the gospel in his preaching. I did have a Sunday school teacher who listened to a radio program called Back to the Bible and recommended it to the class. It was through listening to this program that I finally heard the gospel and came to believe it.
Wow thanks for sharing your testimony and the importance of sharing the Gospel even in the church! Is this Back to the Bible program the teaching ministry of Vernon McGee?
No, Vernon McGee’s program was called Thru the Bible.
So glad you followed the advice of your Sunday school teacher! Blessings.
To Clyde: Wow! It is amazing how God works on our behalf. I love your story!
Good points here, was just praying about a luncheon with brethren today, that the Lord be present and be exalted in our conversation.
Cant remember where I recently read that most pastors don’t share the Gospel outside the pulpit.
I’m encouraged here to consider the spiritual health of those around me and pray that we may mutually stir one another!
Thank you Pastor Slimjim!
That’s a sad statistic of how most pastors don’t evangelize outside the pulpit, I certainly don’t want to be like that and regularly share the Gospel one on one and also through campus evangelism. Let me know how the lunch discussion went, yeah?
Hello brother, well the lunch got canceled at the last minute. But in the afternoon a dear sister, new to our ministry, opened up to me her personal life turmoil. I had been there, and now see God is answering my past prayer not to waste any of my heartache or grief but let me uplift and counsel someone who suffers the same way…
While our elder had asked me to train her in the ministry, the Lord opened much more!
Reblogged this on a simple man of God and commented:
I think of my brother and sister who responded to an altar call because dad and a couple friends went forward. Or my sister-in-law who still refuses to believe. Our many friends who “knew” they were Christians because they grew up in the Church.
Only a few of those mentioned have turned and repented. They only did because of someone asking them about their relationship with Christ and sharing the Gospel.
It is not just the outside world that needs the Gospel. We do, too. And besides, Jesus warned that many who say “Lord, Lord” will be rejected in the last day. (Matthew 7:22-23)
Daniel
I spent over a decade in church unregenerate. This is very good advice, my friend!
Amen.
Amen! I sit next to an unbelieving visitor every week, and he rarely has anyone else speak to him. 😦
Wow praise God for you reaching out to him how sad it is when no one talks to him 😢. What’s his first name so at least I can pray for him?
Just pray for “Doc.” God knows who he is. Thanks!!!
Thanks for the good exhortation! Yes, we often take it for granted that people who are at church have already accepted Christ, but that is not always true.
Yeah. I also know there are some who straight up say they are not Christians but still go to church. How sad if we don’t share the Gospel to them if we are more concern with the fear of man. Just got home at 7:45 PM after a long deacon budget meeting and preaching at two churches with only 5.5K steps; how many steps you got in for Sunday?
We were on the same page. Only 6K steps for me yesterday. Went for walk, church, and then stayed in the house, balanced checkbook, read my book with football on in the background. A pretty mellow day. Also, my wife surprised me with a pair of good boots which I really needed. Have a good rest day Monday!

Very lovely take on how to share the gospel. God Bless you 🙂
Thank you sister; I have heard of the fire in Australia where you live, hope you guys are ok with all that.
I live in Auckland, NZ, so a bit far from Aussie. But yes, all fine 🙂
Appreciate the thoughts. Although I have always considered the pastors calling to be primarily teaching, eph 4. To hear the gospel in church clearly announced is such a welcome message for the saints.
Better yet is the thought of the layman sharing, which if practiced day to day, may revolutionize not only our culture but our lives as believers.
“While we are called to “fish” out in the World, sometimes God allows us to fish within the “Aquarium” called the Church.” I like your statement above. Sometimes we believe that the unsave inside the church is the pastor’s job. Your Sunday enouragments are always on target. Thank you and keep up the good work
