For this week’s “Wee-kids” Wednesdays here’s a review of two children’s book.
Geronimo Stilton. The Fastest Train In the West. New York, NY: Papercutz, December 24th 2013. 56 pp.
4 out of 5
Purchase: Amazon
Want your kids to experience a fun way of learning about America’s attempt to build the intercontential railroad during the late 1800s? This might just be the book! This is the thirteenth volume of the Geronimo Stilton Graphic Novel series. It wasn’t my top favorites in this series but it was still fun to read that my girls wanted me to read it to them twice.
The mouse Geronimo Stilton is a news reporter who was summoned by Professor Von Volt to go back in time through a time machine to stop the Pirate Cats from changing history. This time the adventure takes them to Wild West as they were building the railroad. The Pirate Cats are undercover and attempted to sabotage the efforts to build the railroad in order to be able to promote the idea of dirgibles to travel across the United States from Coast to Coast. But Geronimo and his family and friends are out to stop them and along the way adventures ensues including blown up bridges, fast traveling railroad steam engines and galloping on horseback! This was a fun and historically informative read.
Geronimo Stilton. The First Mouse on the Moon. New York, NY: Papercutz, June 24th 2014. 56 pp.

Purchase: Amazon
Do you want your kids to learn about man’s first trip to the moon in a way that’s fun for your children? The fourteenth volume in the Geronimo Stilton Graphic Novel series explore this event in history nearly fifty one years ago.
The main character is a mouse name Geronimo Stilton and he is a news reporter who while being in a circus was secretly summoned by Professor Von Volt to go back in time through a time machine to stop the Pirate Cats from changing history. This time the adventure takes them to 1969 to stop the Pirate Cats from being the first to land on the moon. Stilton and his friends and family must take risks to stop them! How would they save the day? The book has its twists and turn! I give this a four out of five.
Thanks for the fun reviews! I definitely remember watching the moon landing in 1969. Those Pirate Cats must have been indulging in too much catnip to think dirigibles could compete with railroads.
Lol yeah you got a good point there, the dirigibles would be slower than a train, I didn’t even think of that! How’s your health today?
RE: Health
Thanks for asking! Still blowing my nose, but today’s the first day that I actually feel decent enough to sit at a desk rather than on the couch. That was a loooooong cold. What’s your day look like?
I’m always looking out for appropriate and fun reading for my two boys. Sounds like my kids will love them.
These both look like great books, brother!
You’re welcome! Are you guys still traveling?
No, we’re home now 😃
Thanks for sharing this awesome review SlimJim! I wish I had known about these books earlier. It is neat to see my girls reading them ☺️
🙂
How many books are there in the entire series?
Volume 13 and 14? Surprise there’s so many.
