I think it was providential that three weeks ago we started a mini-series on worrying. Who would have thought this became so relevant. During a time when many are practicing social distancing, believers must practice spiritual Distancing from Anxiety.
Here’s the three part series on worrying:
Though that was the original order I think I suggest more the following order and explanation to best get the most benefit from this outline series.
I know right now there’s a lot of debate among some Christians about what does trusting in God looks like and also our own responsibility in light of risks. I suggest first reading Quick Devotional on Worry 3 to see that biblically there is a good kind of worrying and an ungodly kind of worrying. But how do we tell the difference godly versus ungodly worrying? The outline goes over the symptoms.
Secondly we want to see how Jesus tackle ungodly worry and anxiety. See Quick Devotional on Worry. Then we want to address “What do we need to do with anxiety?” and “Why should you handle your anxiety biblically?” Here you want to read Quick Devotional on Worry 3.
Thanks for the VERY timely lessons on worry and anxiety, brother!
You are welcome. In the midst of everything I didn’t realize it’s Spring! It’s been usually cold for us here; are thing heating up in NY?
Unseasonably cold in ROC today with a high of only 30F but we’re definitely trending towards Spring temps. 55F forecasted for Thursday. I’ve raked about 90% of the lawn because of the nice temps.
Thank you .
You’re welcome. To answer your question earlier: So far people are tense but not acting irrational or harmful. I hope you guys are ok? How was evangelism?
Evangelism went well. People seemed opened to talk to us. Not sure how is going to go this Friday due to new government regulations on social distancing.

I have saved all these posts! If I may be honest, I have experienced “concern” (Worry 3) that was nothing more than gossip. I am SO thankful for you and your family and all the ways y’all follow the Lord, even when it is costly! If you ever read “A Week in the Life of a Slave” I would LOVE to hear your thoughts! Prayers and blessings to you and your family.
Reblogged this on a simple man of God and commented:
It never hurts to have these reminders to ease our anxieties.
Daniel
I love the title
Had to read that twice since I thought it was at first social distancing
Thank you.
You’re welcome and thank you for your comments and likes both on WordPress and on Facebook!

I know people can be helped by this, sharing.
Thanks for this, Jim! I’m sure there is a lot of worry out there.
You’re welcome. There is a lot of over-anxiousness going on and over the top worry right now in our world with the virus. We prayed for our country for that to not be today in our service. Hope you guys are hanging in there, this might be more than the initial two weeks our state said the “stay in place” took place. Hope you get some art work done too!
Thanks Jim! My buffer is every Tuesday and Thursday up to the 31st now.
In these often challenging days, my prayers go out to those who are feeling burdensome worry because as they live with chronic health issues, deal with depression on a daily basis, or live alone.
Much needed in this time
Hi, Thanks for your post. I’ve found an Android app that’s really helpful. I’ve not been paid or received any benefits in kind for posting this by the way. Best wishes, John. https://johnager.co.uk/2020/06/14/steady-breathing-exercises-app/
