More and more churches are doing service online in light of the virus. Our “This Sunday” series will be going over a Corona Virus edition. Last week we posted “Helpful Considerations in using Zoom for the Glory of God.” If you are experiencing Church online here’s something you can do this Sunday: Pray for those at Risk with Corona Virus.
Philippians 4:6 states “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Notice there’s a prohibition: “Be anxious for nothing.” Being anxious is easy to all into during this time. Instead of being anxious we are called to pray: “but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
So pray. Pray for those who are most at risk with the virus. Think of the elderly in your church. Think of those with health problem. Think of those with respiratory issues, or a weak immune system. While not trying to expose them to the virus by maintaining social distancing it is also important we pray for those who have greater health risk with this virus. Also its also a good idea to share your prayer requests with others of someone you know and love that might be at greater risk with this virus. Pray together with someone! I’m glad we are small enough to use Zoom. But for bigger churches call someone up or a few others after service to pray for them.

Right Jim, we will pray for the vulnerable people, the sick, the health workers/professionals, and others who are in the frontlines in this pandemic.
Amen! I’m covering health frontlines and first responders next week, thanks! How is your church doing service today?
Thank you too Jim! GOD bless.
GCF and UCM is the same with some churches, they are doing it online. I listened to Lutzer, Mac Arthur, Capparos for today.
Thanks for the good exhortation, brother! Yes, we have many to pray for in this virus pandemic. Hope you have a blessed service via Zoom today.
Thanks. Was there a polish section of New York or New York City? Asking in light of our discussion about Chinatown
Yup, there is a Polish neighborhood called Greenpoint in Brooklyn. It still has some Polish delis and restaurants, but there are fewer and fewer Poles living there. An article I just looked up titled “Vanishing Polish Greenpoint” says there are currently 10,000 Poles living there, down from 20,000 just ten years ago.
Amen. This is so important. AND … fear not!
Blessings.
Hope you and yours are well, brother.
We are doing well. How are you and your family and seminary and ministry…and everything?
My family is doing really well. I have been teleworking for the past couple weeks which gives me a lot of time for family and schoolwork. We have also been getting outside more than normal which has been great. We are practicing social distancing but there is a lake, walking trails, and a park in the neighborhood so we have been taking full advantage. Also, had a few campfires in the yard and got a few chores done around the house.
I know it’s a tough and confusing time for people but I thanks God daily that I am blessed.
As for seminary, I have been thinking of switching from a ministry degree to a degree that will get me a license in professional counseling. I am in my second class in counseling and I am really loving it. Could be that is my calling.
Glad you are well, take care brother.
Yes! We need to Pray. So many to prayers to be brought before the Throne of Grace.
Amen. I just prayed for your health right now in light of past posts of your health trials
You are a blessing. I am so grateful to the Lord that He raises people as yourself . May He continue to strengthen your faith and bless all you do for His glory .
Trust your Lord’s day is going well and that you are adapting to Zoom preaching and teaching .
Amen! Prayers are needed…
Good post and exhortations. I believe that sovereign God has an agenda in every calamity, esp for His Body.
Our closest friends, Juan and Lourdes, are very sick with corona. Juan, an ex Marine, is laid up in hospital on oxygen. A strong hard working man now cannot care for his sick wife who’s home alone.
God is compelling us to be totally dependent upon Him and find He’s worthy of our trust. I pray that we loosen our grip on this temporal world and refocus on the certain and soon Kingdom to come.
Sorry to say, according to prophecy worse days are coming…corona may be just a bootcamp to prepare us to trust and endure.
Praying for you brother, press on!
You’re right about the virus. Praying for both individuals you mentioned. Like your analogy of boot camp. Is your church doing online services?
Yes, my church has online service. I’m enjoying an online Bible study though on the end times.
By the way, thank you for prayer, after ailing for two weeks, Juan went home from hospital this evening! 😀

Well said. Amen.
Reblogged this on a simple man of God and commented:
I personally know people who have to work in high risk areas and/or are immunocompromised. Friends have family members who have contracted C-19. Regardless of what each of us feels about this virus (“It’s just a bad cold. Why is everyone freaking out?” to “We’re all gonna die!”), we can pray for those who are sick, are in danger of being sick, and are affected by this whole thing. (For example, two of my three jobs are on hold, if one of them survives the effects on business, which itself affects at least 5 others workers and entire church community. The other affects all those who planned on getting married during this time plus the hundreds of people who work weddings for their career.)
Lord, grant peace to those directly affected by this pandemic, wisdom to live through this situation and possible illness, and protect us from illness and worry. Whatever Your will during this time, help us to draw near to You, to trust You, and to be Your hands and feet during this time.
Daniel

Praying for others forces us to confront problems and think about solutions. That is, what can God do to help us.
Prayer calms us. Prayer reminds us that problems have solutions, and God is bigger than any problem.
Amen and good point that I wasn’t thinking of in that way when I wrote this post. How are you holding up with the virus situation?
@SLIMJIM
Next crisis I need to hoard more toilet paper. ☺
How about you?
Very important. Thanks for reminding us
You’re welcome! Did your ministry use zoom this past Saturday?
Ended up using Skype because zoom free package only allowed for 45mins meetings😊
More prayer warriors are stepping up to pray for our most vulnerable during this pandemic. It’s a scary time, but we must stay close to our Father in prayer. He is there and listening.
I’ll remember them in my prayers.
