Our “This Sunday” series will be another a Corona Virus edition. For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Have your kids write a Card to another Child.
This verse comes to mind: “But Jesus said, “Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.“ (Matthew 19:14). We obviously see Jesus’ heart for children. When we think about the virus situation there are some in our church who might have gotten neglected spiritually at this time.
Think about those kids who goes to church without their parents normally. They might not be getting spiritually fed at this time. Or think of the kids whose parents do go to church but the parents might not be a Christian though they are church goers. Or think of kids whose parents do go to church and are Christians; however they have no interests with the things of God.
Thinking about this makes me just prayed for our children in our church and also our students under 18. Pray for them. If you have kids have your kids do something for God at this time. Have them today write a note for these church kids that are “missing in action” from zoom meetings, Children Sunday School online, etc. Have you kids write something spiritual too and help them if needed. Then consider dropping it off today on Sunday, the Lord’s Day!
Good exhortation regarding children in light of this pandemic and church lockdowns! May more Christian parents take the lead in teaching their children about God (and modeling Christian living) instead of assuming their kids get enough instruction at church.
This is a good initiative, Jim, to nurture the child in faith and love in the living GOD and care for their fellow kids. I’ll pray for the success of this proposed activity or endeavor and for the kids who will be the senders or recipients of such comforting letters/cards/words[/art work].
Wow thank you so much for your prayers! I am encouraged by this. By the way is there anything I can pray for you for Gersom?
Thank you very much, Jim. A lot actually, pastor. But there isnone most important fornthe gersomclark site. If possible, I need one specific prayer that GOD the FATHER will lead one unsaved person to these bible verses with graphics and in that moment the HOLY SPIRIT will convict that person to repentance and confessing that JESUS is his Lord and Savior; trusting CHRIST alone. With that, my blogging days will be over. 🙂

Wonderful idea! We’re in. Blessings.
Reblogged this on a simple man of God and commented:
I received a letter from one of my youth. Now, my wife and I have been getting materials and videos to church families to help keep the Word in their homes, but we have some faithful parents. They make our job a lot easier! Getting them communicating with each other more can only help encourage each other emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. A form of Hebrews 10:23-25
Daniel
A good idea I’ll bring this up to my wife
Amen. Good suggestion.
Thank you Maw Maw! How is your day going?
Day was wonderful. Hope yours went as well. Love in Christ.
You come up with some great ideas Pastor Jim. How wonderful that you mention children. They are so often forgotten. I pray that many children were blessed as your idea was followed by the many who read your post.
Aww thanks I hope so too that other kids are blessed because others reached out to them during this time. What does the situation with the virus looks like in your town this past week?
The virus doesn’t seem to be as bad as they first told us . In Sydney the government is beginning to ease restrictions. They also want us to download the COVID safe up. This app will allow the government to track our movements to warn us if we have been in contact with an infected person.
Of course I will not be downloading the app.
At the moment the app is not mandatory .
But one day it would be.
But then know what’s coming.
There is a couple in our church with twin boys about 6 years old. They made over 20 cards to send to people in the church who are alone or most in need of encouragement. It was a wonderful gesture and I’m sure was appreciated greatly by those who received them. As the mom doesn’t know a lot of people in the church and especially their addresses, I made a list for her. Unknown to me, she put me on that list and I received one of those cards. It was beautifully done and she wrote such an encouraging note in it. It was a real blessing. I think in this day of e-mail, texting etc. people do appreciate something sent by snail mail, especially those who don’t have computers or cell phones or internet.
That’s a wonderful idea! May I do the same and share your comment as an email to people in my church?
You certainly may do that. I pray that some of the people will be stirred to either do the same or come up with something similar. We also had a virtual Church Picnic this year with activities mostly for the kids but some for the adults. It was done as a FaceBook event and everyone sent in videos of their participation. Also, those with families delivered picnic-type food items to the people who are alone as normally we would all bring lots of food to a picnic. It was really nice.
Good idea!
