This is from my daily Greek exercise of sight reading some time ago, courtesy of Vincent S Artale Jr.

Our text is from the Greek translation of Matthew 5:18.  Here is my translation:

“ἀμὴν γὰρ λέγω ὑμῖν· ἕως ἂν παρέλθῃ ὁ οὐρανὸς καὶ ἡ γῆ, ἰῶτα ἓν ἢ μία κεραία οὐ μὴ
Truly I say to you until the heaven and the earth will go away, not an iota nor one stroke

παρέλθῃ ἀπὸ τοῦ νόμου , ἕως ἂν πάντα γένηται. ”
will go away from the law, until everything is fulfilled

If you follow my blog you know that my apologetics’ methodology is shaped by Philosopher and Theologian Cornelius Van Til who is the father of Presuppositional Apologetics.  Who is Cornelius Van Til and what did he teach and why is he important?  Where do one begin with an introduction?  I think why I like him is not just only how there’s a lot of “bite” with this school of apologetics but also Van Til’s emphasis that our method of defending the faith must be biblical and not compromised.  Here’s a podcast discussion about the Van Til from Reformed Forum:

For today’s post we will tackle the question the Skeptic Annotated Bible asked: Why did God turn the sundial back ten degrees?

Here are the two answers which the skeptic believes indicate a Bible contradiction:

As a sign that he would heal Hezekiah’s boil

‘Then Isaiah said, “Take a cake of figs.” And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered. 8 Now Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “What will be the sign that the Lord will heal me, and that I shall go up to the house of the Lord the third day?” 9 Isaiah said, “This shall be the sign to you from the Lord, that the Lord will do the thing that He has spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten steps or go back ten steps?” 10 So Hezekiah answered, “It is easy for the shadow to decline ten steps; no, but let the shadow turn backward ten steps.” 11 Isaiah the prophet cried to the Lord, and He brought the shadow on the stairway back ten steps by which it had gone down on the stairway of Ahaz.” (2 Kings 20:7-11)

As a sign that he would defend the city against the Assyrians

“‘Then the word of the Lord came to Isaiah, saying, 5 “Go and say to Hezekiah, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of your father David, “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; behold, I will add fifteen years to your life. 6 I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city.”’ 7 “This shall be the sign to you from the Lord, that the Lord will do this thing that He has spoken: 8 Behold, I will cause the shadow on the stairway, which has gone down with the sun on the stairway of Ahaz, to go back ten steps.” So the sun’s shadow went back ten steps on the stairway on which it had gone down.’” (Isaiah 38:4-8)

My post today does touch on politics but its more than politics and I will get back to the spiritual.

Do you remember this picture back in January 2019 and how the Mainstream media made it as if the highschooler with the MAGA hat was disrespecting a Native American?  At that time I looked up the entire Youtube video and was stunned how it turned out that the media was wrong, like blatantly wrong.  Then I heard interviews with the Native American and I found even more lies was spewed.  I wrote about it in a nuanced post here: .  It was one of my top posts in 2019.

For today’s post we will tackle the question the Skeptic Annotated Bible asked: When was the woman who touched Jesus’s robe cured?

Here are the two answers which the skeptic believes indicate a Bible contradiction:

She was cured the instant she touched Jesus’s robe.

‘A woman who had had a hemorrhage for twelve years, 26 and had endured much at the hands of many physicians, and had spent all that she had and was not helped at all, but rather had grown worse— 27 after hearing about Jesus, she came up in the crowd behind Him and touched His cloak. 28 For she thought, “If I just touch His garments, I will get well.” 29 Immediately the flow of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction.” (Mark 5:25-29)

“‘And a woman who had a hemorrhage for twelve years, and could not be healed by anyone, 44 came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His cloak, and immediately her hemorrhage stopped. 45 And Jesus said, “Who is the one who touched Me?” And while they were all denying it, Peter said, “Master, the people are crowding and pressing in on You.”” (Luke 8:43-45)

She was cured within an hour after touching Jesus’s robe.

“‘And a woman who had been suffering from a hemorrhage for twelve years, came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His cloak; 21 for she was saying to herself, “If I only touch His garment, I will get well.” 22 But Jesus turning and seeing her said, “Daughter, take courage; your faith has made you well.” At once the woman was made well.’” (Matthew 9:20-22)

There recently was a four way debate/discussion/dialogue on apologetics’ methodology.  By apologetics I mean the art and science involved with defending the faith.

This Youtube event was an event by Explain Apologetics.

I haven’t seen the discussion but I’m saving up here as post for reference.
