Our “This Sunday” series will be another a Corona Virus edition. For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Pray people don’t get sick with the virus at Church
I know there can be various views about some of the churches that have been in the public limelight with pursuing legal moves with their church meeting at a capacity. I realize some churches have not yet met up physically yet.
Still I think whether for your own local church or the churches of other brothers and sisters it would be good to pray that people won’t get the virus and the virus won’t spread through the church.
I know we have read news of how some churches have been hit with this virus. Also some on WordPress have gotten sick with the virus and they are Christians. So it makes sense to pray concerning this.

Praying for them, Jim. Praying for protection from the virus as well as discernment. 🤐😶
Thank you for those prayers; yes we must pray for both and that include wisdom. Going to stay up for another 20 minutes then going to nap and finish my sermon prep!
For immunity sake, pastor, and you will be early tomorrow. You’re welcome, Jim! I just prayed to GOD few minutes ago. I will be praying also for the Christian bloggers momentarily. GOD bless you on your sermon!
You’ve had your blog for a while now. I had one a few years ago called Dispensational Apologetics. I want to start a new blog on here. It can be fun fiddling with it. I want to post stuff on philosophy, theology, and apologetics.

Wise advise! Praying for your sermon!
Thank you for your prayers for my sermon! What did your church preach on today?
All I will say is that today was VERY topical, how to lean into Jesus in this new time.
I am praying. Thanks for the great reminder.
Blessings.
Thanks for this message. Although I strongly disagree with pastors who have chosen to ignore the realities of the C-19 pandemic and forsake health safety precautions, I pray for them and their congregations.
I think that’s quite charitable of you that you still pray for them. Is your local church having a limited physical opening?
In the flesh, I strongly disapprove of what JMac and GCC are doing, but I also know I make dumb choices regularly.
RE: local church
I’m not sure how much I mentioned to you about it previously, but my wife and I began listening to sermons from other sources every evening and our dissatisfaction with our church really grew. The church leans heavily towards the seeker-growth model. No church is perfect, obviously, but we were compromising too much with what was happening there. I’m going to write a post about our 4.5 year experience there one of these days. So we’ve been doing sermon podcasts on Sunday morning (as well as nightly throughout the week). We’re praying the Lord leads us to a local church down the road. It’s difficult here in Western New York because the few “evangelical” non-denominational churches are either seeker or charismatic. Conservative Presbyterian or Lutheran LCMS are not for me. There’s a few IFB churches around, but we won’t do that again.
Praying!
I just also prayed for everyone’s health and well being with your church Crissy…I’m often encouraged seeing the praying that takes place through the means of WordPress. May you have a good sleep and rest and I hope the rest of your Sunday went well after church too!
Thank you Pastor Jim.
Trust your Lord’s Day was a blessing.
May God Strengthen you for the coming week and fill you with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding and that you bear fruit in all you do for His Glory.
Reblogged this on a simple man of God and commented:
“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord (James 5:13-14, ESV) casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7, ESV)
Anxiety over illness can bean illness in itself. Let us pray for the health of the faithful.
Daniel
Because I also work at a coffee shop, I have been extra careful, too. Still, this past week my boss let me know he tested positive, and I had been the only one who worked with him. So, I took this past week off and got tested. Now, my wife (elementary teacher) and I have to stay home, and I just got my first test results back (positive, but she is negative). This was supposed to be the youth school year kickoff time!
Oh, well. I will take the “break”, I guess. At least I kept it from the rest of the congregation!
Wow I’m praying for you. How are you feeling? How many days have you had it or known about it? Praying brother!
Started feeling it on Monday – the same day my boss got his results – but I was so tired from an extensive weekend that we played it safe and stayed home from church last week. And it has been minor cold symptoms. Got the first results yesterday, just about the time I realized I could not smell things anymore!
Thanks for the prayers!
Praying for protection and good health in churches.
Good idea, we must not forget the power of prayer
Political figures violating the Constitution is major evidence of not submitting to authority.
Jonny mac won his lawsuit for that reason.
Not even Dr. Fauchi claims that this is proven science by medical study.
There are zero medical studies proving social distancing and masks are superior to traditional medicine of isolating the sick and the weak from the healthy, ZERO.
When asked if a real scientific study should be conducted Dr. Fauchi replied no.
He did not cite any study that scientifically proves it, there isn’t one, not one
i could go on about this propaganda coming from CCP but the lie has been bought hook line and sinker.
Virtue signaling has many faces.
Indeed, it is really a great idea to pray that this disease does no spread in the churches. We will continue to pray for its complete eradication and for those who are ill. Thank you for sharing.
Amen.
And amen! As more churches are starting to meet up we gotta pray more for our churches and members to be protected from the virus. Prayer is important amen?
Amen.

I believe we are all one family. Children of our Heavenly Father. Ive got a prayer I will say, it is a little abstract but here goes.
Dear Oldest Parents,
Please keep your children healthy and heal the sick. Thank you for giving us a soul that survives death. You are good to us, even during our weakness.
I hope that prayer is encouraging and pleasant. Good will to the churches.
Signed
