It began last week: My Comments on People’s WordPress keeps going to spam. Anyone else have the same problem?
I think WordPress sees I comment a lot and assume I’m spamming. Its frustrating.
I want to ask readers if possible if they can check their WordPress’ spam folder to see if my comment might have landed on there.
I hope this problem goes away.
This did make me think of a spiritual tangent: I’m glad when we pray to God that in Christ none of our prayers are treated as “spam.”
Amen! Most of my comments end up in people’s spam. I contacted WordPress about this and all they said was people need to check their spam folder. When I asked certain bloggers about my comments they said they didn’t see them in their spam. At least with Apple, there is no spam folder for comments in the app. I checked my spam folder by going to my blog’s website.
Wow I don’t have WordPress app and never knew that you can’t access the spam comments from the WordPress app. Sorry to hear you have the same experience too. Praying that WordPress would stop having these glitches for your and I when we comment on other’s blog. Thanks for the rescue of my comments on your blog though! The thought of being marked as a spammer is quite intolerable to me as I imagine it is for you too!
I get so frustrated that I take the time to comment only for it to get lost in the spam abyss. How are you doing? Praying the fires flea your area.
So far, none of your comments landed on spam, Jim. Thank you for your call to check the spam folder, I saw two legitimate blogger’s comments in the said folder and not the usual links to a site.
Thanks for checking! For some reason my comments is safe on your blog but last night my comments on Mandy’s blog and other people’s site. This morning the fire near us has gotten closer and makes the skies filled with smoke. Will you be able to pray for the fire to be stopped from entering into people’s homes in the city?
Yes, Jim, I just prayed that GOD will put off the fires in California, Oregon, and and Washington. I’ve seen the skies in an area in CA in real time (and I just saw the air quality from your Government’s site, as well as videos since the start of fires in Vacaville. It is all in the news even the local TV here, both the northern and southern parts of CA.
As you know, I did find one. From what I know, your premise may be correct. These things are driven by the nefarious “algorithms”. These are based on assumptions that aren’t always true.
Please keep up the comments. They are encouraging to all of us.
Blessings.
Amen! Hopefully this comment doesn’t end up in your spam folder! 😀
I’m so grateful to see your comment on my blog! I do pray for you from time to time and hope your teacher training go well!
Thank you. Likewise I pray that all is well with you and yours 🙂
Amen ! So glad our prayers are not treated as spam.
Amen! Praying for your Friday outreach!
We had to cancel our Outreach for today. Somethings have happened that has stopped two of us from being able to go today.
Pastor Jim have you heard from Bonnie? Last time I heard she was being evacuated.
Sorry for interjecting, Crissy, yes it was a long since Bonnie mentioned that. Praying still for both of your ministries.
No need to be sorry Clark.😊
Thank you for your prayers . God bless you.
Blessings too, Crissy! 🙂
Sorry that is happening to you. It’s not happening on my blog. Interestingly, though, of late (past three weeks at least) I’m not getting ANY spam. Don’t know why.
Wow you normally check your spam comments? I suspect you are quite thorough in everything you do, from studying the Bible to commenting and probably other things in home life
I’m using the old version of the WP Comments section, which shows “Spam” (which has a number count next to it in parentheses) right at the top for easy access. I get to it via the old “Stats and Insights” page, then click on “WP Admin” (opening in new tab) to get to the old version of the Comments section. I usually keep this tab open and check it frequently.
You should see my apartment. It’s a wreck. All these unfinished projects, evidenced by books and notes everywhere…One day I’ll clean it up…
Sorry Craig, I do not mean to interrupt, this seemed like a fitting place to say this. I left a comment on your blog today and I am not sure if it needs your approval or if it went to spam! Anyway, beautiful blog today in the event my comment is in the abyss!
Blue Collar Theologian,
I cannot find your comment! So sorry, I’ve no idea where it is. Would you mind trying again?
I have not experienced any issues with this.
I have commented on your blog and I think it just got on the spam filter instead of approved lol
I did receive your comment and thank you so much. Have a bless day.
Hmm. None of your comments (or those of others) have ended up in my spam recently. But I couldn’t connect with the internet from 5pm until 7am this morning. That was frustrating. Seemed like a provider issue. I got a lot of reading done instead, those two difficult books I’m still grinding through. Hope your comments issue gets resolved. Something similar happened to me a few times.
Sorry to hear about your internet issue! Glad to hear you got a lot of reading done though. For some reason my comments have no problem on your blog and Gersmon’s and Brue’s blog, but everyone else it depends! There seems to be no rhyme or reason I can detect
That’s a pain. I hope that WordPress hiccup stops soon for you.
Do I have a ‘spam’ folder in wordpress?? I need to check.
Amanda commenting on this post said that for WordPress apps on Apple phones or device it doesn’t show you spam comments, but if you use a regular computer or laptop on a regular internet browser you can look for it under “comments” section for your admin page. I think I did leave a comment that might have not went through on your blog but I am losing track now since its happening so much. Hope that helps! I do check the spam section since I regularly find people comment and it got stuck there. Even with regulars!
I will check. There is just a lot I don’t know about the blog world.
I did check and found a couple but none from you. thanks.
This happened to me back in January — almost all of my comments on other people’s blogs was going to their spam folder.
I wrote a blog post about it, received some helpful comments, and finally found the solution. You can find my solution here, at the bottom of this post:

Wow I will read your post. I had a problem in January but it’s happened again for a week now. Thanks for your help ahead of time!!!
Hi, Linda Lee! I want you to know that I am praising God for you with all of my heart! I followed your directions on your post yesterday and today, I have left a received notice that my comment actually went through after a year of not being able to! Thank you, thank you, thank you! You have blessed me beyond measure! I am sorry that Jim’s comments went to spam but I am thankful because it led me to your post! I am SO thankful and grateful that I could keep rambling on and on so I will just say thank you again and lots of love, hugs and blessings!!! Mandy
Wow how long they took to get back to you? I just did this just now contacting them
Hey!!! It took them about 12 hours, I filled this out last night and I received a reply this morning! I am glad you filled that out!
Awwwwwwww!!!! Now I’m crying happy tears. ❤❤❤
You have NO idea! I have been unable to comment on some blogs for a year! Even though they didn’t go through, I still commented anyway. This is such a joy!!
I am so sorry you went through that. Thank God that’s over!
I checked my Spam folder and nothing from you in there Jim!
Amen to no comments to God being in spam…He is attentive to His children’s cry!🙌🙌🙌
Would you be able to check your spam comments I commented on your blog and it seems it just happened again to my comments lol
Yes…3 in there…one from today…2 from 4 days ago. When I looked the other day there was none…
I accepted all of them.
Amen!!
Hello
As you are well aware, Pastor Jim, I have been having this issue for years. I’m not even sure my comments always end up in a spam folder. Sometimes they even look like they are awaiting moderation at a blog and then they are gone when I check the next day. It is very strange. I have made no settings changes that would cause this to happen.
One blog where I had this issue, suddenly started allowing my comments to show up recently. So, I tried another blog where I try to comment often and the problem persists. We probably both should contact WordPress to see if this can get resolved. I’ve put it off but it is frustrating when I make a lengthy comment only to have it disappear. I have actually started copying and saving my comments so that I can try reposting them again.
I hope that your problem is resolved.
God’s blessings…
So far none of your comments have found their way into my spam folder. I did find one in my spam from someone who reblogged one of my posts, and a couple that really were spam, but yours ended up in the right place.
I want to comment on this:
I have to be honest: there were times when this analogy would have seemed to fit! Or that the ceiling of my room was acting like some sort of force field.
Hey, Jim! One of the comments you sent ye did indeed land in my spam folder, but for some reason it took a while to get there. The first time I checked it wasn’t in any of the folders, and when I just checked it a minute ago, there it was. I clicked on “this is not spam”, but it wasn’t done yet! Your comment was then put in the “pending” file waiting to be approved, (as if it were the first comment you ever made to my blog). Weird.
Indeed, I’m reminded of that verse in Revelation, that talks about the prayers of the saints being like sweet smelling incense to God!
Amen! Our prayers always find the Lord.
It is annoying to be mistaken for spam
God doesn’t send the prayers of the saints to the spam filter
Im grateful for Jesus Christ who died for us. I know our Lord and Savior separates fact from fiction and that we be able to pray because of Jesus. But those who mock his name in vain will face his wrath and divine retribution. Its never too late to repent. Love the true God.
He made a way
Your posts are awesome! God has given you a gift of teaching His word! Thank you!
