For today’s post we will tackle the question the Skeptic Annotated Bible asked: How many Philistine foreskins did David buy his first wife with?

Here are the answers which the skeptic believes indicate a Bible contradiction:

So David sent messengers to Ish-bosheth, Saul’s son, saying, “Give me my wife Michal, to whom I was betrothed for a hundred foreskins of the Philistines.” (2 Samuel 3:14)

David rose up and went, he and his men, and struck down two hundred men among the Philistines. Then David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full number to the king, that he might become the king’s son-in-law. So Saul gave him Michal his daughter for a wife.” (1 Samuel 18:27)
