This Sunday at Church I want to encourage you to do the following: Share a Bible verse with someone that God is in control.
There’s a lot going on at the time I write this. There’s 126 nights of destruction that still continue on daily in some parts of America. There’s an upcoming election. And there’s the virus and the response to the riot. There’s so much more to say of what’s going on!
In all this it is easy to be discouraged.
So this might be a good practice: Share a Bible verse with someone that God is in control. It can be to someone who is going through trials (though I also would say if you do share that with that person be wise and pastoral in how you share that). It can even be a friend who outwardly doesn’t seem to be going through trials or are affected by difficult circumstances. Sometimes people go through things that you don’t know about; or even if you are right there’s not a major trial in their life, still it is good to share this truth as dealing with suffering has a “preventative medicine” side in that its good to know certain biblical truths ahead of time before we go through the crucible of life.
Here are three verses you can share; what other verses can you add? Drop us a comment!
“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
“The mind of man plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9)
“Many plans are in a man’s heart, But the counsel of the Lord will stand.” (Proverbs 19:21)
I know sometimes with some people they can get uncomfortable with someone sharing a Bible verse with them. Or it might be they are not accustom to you sharing them Bible verses. What I find helpful sometimes is to share with them how that passage applies to you, sometimes its helpful to share the application you get out of a passage. Also for some people they might not be encouraged to know how a passage can work in their own life when they see it being applied in your life, to address your own vulnerabilities and worries.
We will follow your call and your words of advice, Jim. Aside from grace and salvation, this is one of the many Gospel truths that we should proclaim early on that GOD is sovereign and in control of His creation and plans. Everything happens according to His purpose and will; all for His glory. We may know in heaven His reasons on disaters, will on us, covid etc. GOD willing, we can share this truth this week. There are many applicable stories, verses, if not the entire Bible is a testament on GOD’s sovereign will, my thought right now is Isaiah 55:8-9. GOD bless you and your family.
Amen brother Gersom I agree it’s a truth that needs to be preached and shared and talked about more. It has so many implications for life and trials. Isaiah 55:8-9 is a good one! Thank you for sharing that. I think you shared that passage on your blog many months ago correct?
Yes, correct, Jim, it was posted on May 26, 2020. True, people need to be reminded constantly that GOD is sovereign and that earth is just a transient world for us in preparation (e.g. sanctification) for heaven in the lenses of GOD’s grace. Instead of getting angry with GOD, one will be excited to worship Him in heaven. Though this is easy to say but with GOD working in us, a renewed perspective is possible.

Great idea. Thanks for the suggestion.
It encourages me to know God is in control and you are right we should also encourage others. Thank you pastor Jim.
Praise the Lord! What was the topic or passage today your pastor preach from? Often curious about other congregations on Sunday
We had an evangelist speak at our church on Sunday. He preached a powerful gospel message. We also had two people visit our church from our Friday’s outreach . And I hope they were the two that put their hand up to receive Jesus when the preacher gave the call.
🙏🙏🙏
How was your Lord’s Day? Are you able to do your outreach or if Covid in the way ?
Thank you for the exhortation and very relevant Bible verses. Yes, the current temporal circumstances are discouraging and unnerving, but Jesus Christ is the solid Rock!
Amen Jesus and God is the solid rock! That’s a good one to share too. What was the topic or passage you heard this morning preaching?
The message this morning was about finding our acceptance, identity, and security in Jesus Christ rather than in the world, especially in light of all of the chaos going on. What was your message this morning?
Isaiah 45:5-7. Though the immediate context is about Cyrus here, it points to the character and power of God over all things. It should give great confidence to those who fear to know that absolutely nothing is beyond God’s sovereignty.
Psalms 30:5b…weeping may endure for a night ,but joy cometh in the morning.
Reblogged this on a simple man of God and commented:
Ask my youth and small group: this has been my go to response this year! With all the craziness that has been happening, it is so good to remember that God “works all things according to the counsel of his will” (Ephesians 1:11b), even viruses, global unrest, and election cycles.
Daniel
Amen, Pastor.
And amen! Hope you have a blessed Lord’s Day Maw Maw! Appreciate all your love and support on our Facebook Page too!
Blessings to you and yours, The church also.

Proverbs 3:5-7, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.”
Thank you for this post. How about Psalm 73:27-28?
Those who are far from you will perish;
you destroy all who are unfaithful to you.
But as for me, it is good to be near God.
I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge;
I will tell of all your deeds.
Wow brother that is a good one! That’s very specific, is that a favorite verse of your or you recently read it or blogged about it?
No. I stumbled upon it in my reading, one of those God-Made Coincidences.
I find much to study and reflect upon from Isaiah. From Isaiah 45:6: “So that they may know, from the rising of the sun and from the west, there is no one besides me; I am the Lord, and there is no other.”
Romans 8:28 is one of my favorite scriptures. Thank you. Sharing the word of God with others is the key. God bless you
I love Romans 8:28 too, happy Thanksgiving!

Despite all that is happening around us, God is in control, what God cannot do does not exist. Thank you
What’s up?
I found this article very interesting…please read!
Do you remember the blockbuster hit film The Matrix that was released in 1999? You may not know this, but it has deep spiritual implications concerning the times we are living in and Bible prophecy.
It tells a story of how these “agents” are trying to turn us into machines. We are closer then ever before for this to become a reality when they cause us to receive an implantable microchip in our body during a time when physical money will be no more.
You may have seen on NBC news concerning the implantable RFID microchip that some people are getting put in their hand to make purchases, but did you know this microchip matches perfectly with prophecy in the Bible?
“He (the false prophet who deceives many by his miracles) causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name…
You also may have heard of the legendary number “666” that people have been speculating for possibly thousands of years on what it actually means. This article shares something I haven’t seen before, and I don’t think there could be any better explanation for what it means to calculate 666. This is no hoax. Very fascinating stuff!
…Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666″ (Revelation 13:16-18 NKJV).
GOD is sending out His end time warning:
“Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, ‘If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name'” (Revelation 14:9-11).
In the Islamic religion they have man called the Mahdi who is known as their messiah of whom they are waiting to take the stage. There are many testimonies from people online who believe this man will be Barack Obama who is to be the biblical Antichrist based off dreams they have received. I myself have had strange dreams about him like no other person. So much so that I decided to share this information.
He came on stage claiming to be a Christian with no affiliation to the Muslim faith…
“In our lives, Michelle and I have been strengthened by our Christian faith. But there have been times where my faith has been questioned — by people who don’t know me — or they’ve said that I adhere to a different religion, as if that were somehow a bad thing,” – Barack Obama
…but was later revealed by his own family members that he indeed is a devout Muslim.
So what’s in the name? The meaning of someones name can say a lot about a person. God throughout history has given names to people that have a specific meaning tied to their lives. How about the name Barack Obama? Let us take a look at what may be hiding beneath the surface…
“And He (Jesus) said to them (His disciples), ‘I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven'” (Luke 10:18).
In the Hebrew language we can uncover the meaning behind the name Barack Obama.
Barack, also transliterated as Baraq, in Hebrew is: lightning
baraq – Biblical definition:
From Strongs H1299; lightning; by analogy a gleam; concretely a flashing sword: – bright, glitter (-ing, sword), lightning. (Strongs Hebrew word H1300 baraq baw-rawk’)
Barak ‘O’bamah, The use of bamah is used to refer to the “heights” of Heaven.
bamah – Biblical definition:
From an unused root (meaning to be high); an elevation: – height, high place, wave. (Strongs Hebrew word H1116 bamah baw-maw’)
The day following the election of Barack Obama (11/04/08), the winning pick 3 lotto numbers in Illinois (Obama’s home state) for 11/5/08 were 666.
Obama was a U.S. senator for Illinois, and his zip code was 60606.
Seek Jesus while He may be found…repent, confess and forsake your sins and trust in the savior! Jesus says we must be born again by His Holy Spirit to enter the kingdom of God…God bless!
