Our “This Sunday” series will be another a Corona Virus edition. For this week: Donate Electronic Device so At-Risk Members can have Church service online.
This has been a difficult year for many. Last Friday I talked to a Christian who lived next to our church. This individual goes to another church but he told me of a death of someone in his church (again, no cause for alarm for my church guys reading this, this is not our church). Last Saturday (not last night) I was on social media and saw someone was hospitalized with Covid and the person’s health is in serious risk.
So for those who are at risk and can’t go to church sometimes they have long term health issues that might have affected their income for years already. And if their income is affected that might mean some don’t have electronic devices to access the internet to be fed God’s Word through the means of hearing it preached (obviously reading God’s Word directly is one way of being fed); and they might miss opportunity to fellowship online.
I know at this time there are people are read this blog who are spiritually “homeless” in terms of a local church; our spiritual climate is also changing. It’s hard to find sound doctrinal churches that preach the Bible. Sometimes a church can have the right statement of faith on paper but their agendas are set by the World than the Word. Some of you live in geographical locations where there’s actually few churches and even fewer Bible-based church; or worst there are none near you. You I lament for a lot; if that describes you let me know to pray for some church planter to rise up in your area. Not an easy place to be at and while its not ideal I think the fellowship of smaller churches that use Zoom, facebook video, etc., might be an important place for Bible study, prayer meeting and Church service. But that won’t be possible for some if we as the body of Christ won’t be willing to donate Electronic Device so At-Risk Members can have Church service online.

Attendance of a Bible based church was always difficult in modern times. Certainly covid has made this doubly hard now for many of us. I do not belong to a fellowship and have not for a long time. This has been mainly due to my health issues over the years, generally modern fellowships don’t do well with chronically sick people. My health has seen an improvement since before covid and I was thinking of searching for a church, then along comes covid! I enjoy and am blessed by contact within the blogging fellowship. I have watched online services and enjoyed them but it always feels like there is something missing, if that makes sense. Forgive my ramblings brother Jim, may our Father God bless you today.
Wow God bless you Alan; I think this year I’m more conscious and aware of more believers such as yourself. I’m praying for you and know my heart has been burdened for those like you. Seems God has really used WordPress to draw together likeminded believers who love the Word and the Lord on here. You’ve survived through so much Alan, what a testimony. Alan never see anything you comment on here as ramblings, your comments is always welcome brother. I plan in the near future to share my posts like I did a few days ago of the series on Ruth; maybe not a 17 part series but maybe an individual sermon, etc. Have a blessed Lord’s Day, yes brother?
Thank you Jim for your understanding and prayers brother. God is Good!
I feel like this too, Alan. I have health concerns also and with the presence of Covid, the blogging community and online services are a real blessing. However, I know what you mean about there being something missing. I long for us to have a vaccine and somehow become a part of a Christian community once more.
Amen 🙏

Thanks for this good exhortation! I can relate to several points you mention. I’m grateful for electronic devices and the internet and for the ability to “connect” with other believers here at WordPress and via other Christian virtual venues.
Tom it seems there’s many in your situation to some extent, so grateful for WordPress. What led you to go on WordPress in the first place as opposed to say blogspot? I remember your story of blogging was prompted by that story of your old church friend saying you should write…
RE: Why WordPress?
Hmm. Good question. I was only vaguely aware of a few free blog engines at the time. The other ones appeared to be a bit “chintzy” to me. How did you come to choose WP?
Thank you for your caring thoughts here. Electronic devices and the Internet helps us to connect with others believers and Church services.
Indeed. It seems the Lord has used WordPress as a platform for believes to connect and be encouraged. How was your Lord’s Day?
A peaceful day yesterday. Our pastor is continuing the teaching on the book of Genesis and our heart rejoices in just how GREAT our God is!!!
Hope all is well with you and yours.
What a great idea. Thanks for being faithful to the message God gives you.
Blessings.
Thank you for this call to donate electronic device to at-risk church members, Jim, I will be praying this in connection with other churches. Having seldom go to our two churches for the past decade due to traffic and preacher, we settle for online and it helps a lot in understanding the Triune GOD, His will, and His work of salvation; all for His glory. The Philippines was/is called the text capital of the world for a reason and some people preferred a phone for facebook than other (much) needed items in life. It is a matter of drawing them to a sites and apps like oneplace.com, gty, moody media, in touched, and gotquestions.org or encouraged them to listen to a local FM station where these preachings and lectures are available.
Wow I didn’t know Philippines was the text capital of the world although that doesn’t totally surprised me as Asia seem to be on the phone more than Americans in my opinion with texting from my observation. I thank God there’s the internet and we have electronic devices to be connected online brother, and to have met you on WordPress. When you started out what led you to WordPress than say blogspot?
WordPress is not new to me years prior to this. Still, I reviewed some platforms that has WordPress or those entirely different like Wix. Originally, I just wanted a site where I can place these verses with graphics. By mistake or GOD’s divine providence, I registered to the dot com instead of dot org; only to discover later this error. I appreciated the blog eventually.

Reblogged this on a simple man of God and commented:
“Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.”
(Romans 14:13)
Let us help others receive the Word. Obviously it is better to meet in person, but we have always had those who were/are unable to attend in person.
Daniel
Admit it. You read my verse of the day post and got the idea for this. The only other option is we both know the same God who nudges with His Holy Spirit …
I think it might be independent! When did you write your post? I actually had idea for this two weeks ago but then the Election and Philippines came up and I delayed writing this for the Sunday series! The Spirit is working!
My theme this week is not hindering others coming to the Lord. But I planned it yesterday!

Great idea, Pastor.
As alternative, for those not comfortable with the technology required, there are still some short wave broadcast stations operated by Christian organizations. If the internet goes down. . . Shortwave might be the only way for some Bible content to enter homes.
Perhaps you are familiar with it.
In the coming week, I plan to post some information about this means of hearing the Word.
L-RD Bless, Keep, Shine. . .
Great way to minister to others and encouragement!
In a recent phone conversation with my Dad, he told me how he is coping with not attending worship due to Covid. He has been a regular reader of devotions and the Bible, but he doesn’t have the means to attend worship online as I do.
