For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Forgive others.
Ephesians 4:32 states
Be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
In a few weeks I will be preaching on this passage. I can’t wait for that.
But the meaning is clear. We are called to forgive. Forgiving others is not easy. But God also gives us grace to obey. Not the second half of the verse gives us the motivation for obedience: “just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.“
We are forgiven. Forgiven by God. That is amazing. The cost of course is Jesus. Jesus dying on the Cross for us!
Being involved with church means interacting with sinners that God has redeemed; it would be naïve to think one won’t be hurt by someone and one need to forgive them.
In fact sometimes it feels God uses the church to teach us more about forgiving others than anything else. In such a situation look towards Christ.
This post is important and I imagine the other “Sunday” posts would be hard to do if we don’t first forgive others. Thanks for reading!
You are so right brother, our forgiveness of others is central to our walk with our Father God. If we can’t practice forgiveness of others how can we expect forgiveness from God?
Sobering question! We need God’s grace to forgive others, and often that grace comes from looking at Christ’s forgiveness of our sins. Have a blessed Palm Sunday Alan!
“ In fact sometimes it feels God uses the church to teach us more about forgiving others than anything else.” – This is spot on!
Encouraged to hear that part spoke to you! Have a blessed new week sister!
Thank you brother.
Thanks for the good word this morning. Love is worked out in forgiveness.
Blessings.

This truth is so important especially in such a divided society. The Church needs to model the forgiveness that created the Church.
Amen, so good to hear from you on WordPress
Amen. God’s people should be forgiving people having been forgiven in Christ.
Amen. Before we finish life’s page on another day, we need to forgive others. God’s own example leads our actions.
Forgiveness is difficult but critical work. You are so right Jim! We forgive because God has forgiven us, we forgive so as to not let roots of bitterness and resentment grow in us. Forgiveness is an active process. Thank you for this good and necessary word! Praying for church and for your preaching! Love and blessings to you, Nancy and kiddos!
Amen!!
Thank you for your prayers! I’m going to need it as I’m quite tired this morning! Hope you have a blessed Palm Sunday sister, wondering if anything is going to be different for you and Nathan today!
🙌
Thanks for reading this post sister!!

Amen and Amen.
Forgiveness is not easy! But by the grace of God we can forgive amen?
Truth. Forgiveness is very importent for our own good and the forgiven.
Thanks for this good exhortation regarding forgiveness! This is something we constantly have to work on because in the flesh we love to harbor a grudge.
You are welcome! Oh how we need the grace of God to not only be forgiven but also to sanctify us to forgive others! Forgiveness is not easy, or least not for me! Blessings to you Tom, hope today’s shift is going well?
Thanks, brother! Work is going well…usually a little slower on Sunday. Hope you’re having a good Lord’s day!
I confess there are people in my life I need to forgive. 2020 was a year of broken friendships and family relationships for me
Just prayed for you and for them; 2020 is a rough year for lots of people…
Years ago there was a little rhyme,
“To live above with saints we love
– Ah, that will be glory!
To live below with saints we know …
Well, that’s another story …:/ ”
But when we can truly love and forgive one another, in these days of rage and resentment – that will speak God’s truth to the world.
That ditty speaks to the truth of how people are difficult on this side of eternity! We need God’s grace to forgive others…and God has given that grace when we mediate and be moved and motivated by the Gospel to forgive amen??
Amen! 👍
Huge reason for me:
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Matthew 6:14-15 King James Version (KJV)
