Happy Resurrection Sunday!
22 years ago on this day, April 4th, it was also resurrection Sunday. I remember because that was when I trusted in Jesus as my Savior.
Here is a short poem I wrote this weekend in thinking about Jesus:
The Greatest Story Ever Told,
Of a God so bold,
Coming down in human form,
to be crucified and tortured,
My every sins He bored,
To save me from hell,
to have me restored,
As I behold Him on the Cross I’m torn,
Yet beholding Him I’m transformed.
You are a good poet, Pastor Jim! An excellent poem and I would say, a modern part of the apostles’ creed. Blessings to you, Nancy, and your kids!
Far too kind in your words! Brother Kent, have a blessed resurrection Sunday! Hope you get to enjoy a good dinner tonight too!
Thank you for sharing your devotional poem Jim. In Him we are transformed indeed…thus we are the original Transformers!

I especially like these lines:
“As I behold Him on the Cross I’m torn,
Yet beholding Him I’m transformed.”
Amen and amen!
I know why editors don’t accept religious poetry – but this is very good.

It’s a wonderful poem, brother Jim! I thank and praise the Lord for what He has done for us.
Happy Birthday, brother!
I don’t remember the month or day of my spiritual rebirth, but it was in 1973, so long ago. Here is something I wrote when I thought of what He has done for me.
THE LOFTY ONE
He was wounded in the battle, blood flowed from His side. He never was defeated, but He winced, bent low, and cried.
The price was very great, much glory put aside.
He was also torn and bruised, but joy was still inside.
His shame was oh so great, crushing pain and agony.
Kneeling in the garden, a place called Gethsemane.
Betrayed by a friend, forsaken by the rest;
Assailed by His accusers, He withstood their cruelest test.
Laid inside a tomb, a cold and barren place.
A light was there that darkness just could not erase.
The glory that burst forth that morn so long ago
Has rippled down through time and can rapture any soul.
The high and lofty One, the God of eternity,
Looks down through the ages in thought of you and me.
Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.

Thank you for comments on my Spiritual Birthday! Appreciate what you wrote; do you blog as I think there’s definitely a place for your writing on WordPress
Bloging and that kind of thing, I just don’t understand it. Otherwise, I probably would. I do have a website, but since my wife died 8 months ago, I have not placed anything on there.
