For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Pray for Churches Pray for Churches Facing Legal Matters with this Pandemic.
I am not trying to be political here (or too political in a way of partisanship). I realize every church in different location faces different challenges with the decision of what does church looks like in this day and age of COVID 19. Some of those challenges are with the government and every local government have different standards of what opening up and operating as a church looks like.
With this in mind we know some churches have had the government given churches a hard time. Some of these incidents have become a legal matter. This is not just only in the United States but other country as well.
Whatever your views (not trying to spark a debate on this Lord’s Day) I think it is important to pray for other brothers and sisters in other churches facing government and legal challenges about being a church on Sundays.
Praying for both these churches and and their respective governments to resolve this amicably and find common ground instread of expensive, emotional, and longer lawsuits.
I pray for that too. Its quite a polarizing time. Still praying for your country with everything along with others in different country in our Tuesday study
AMEN ! Totally agree.
And amen! Just curious in Australia are churches in your area ordered to have less capacity of people during service?
In NSW the state where I live, we were only allowed to have “so many people”
Now all restrictions have been lifted so we are back to normal.
Thanks for the great reminder. We need to pray for our brothers and sisters. It is indeed the right thing to do and not political at all. Many are suffering the pain of isolation.
Blessings.
In prayer.
May we pray for other believers and churches to navigate through this issue of fellowship and being an assembly during these time, legally and otherwise!
Amen.

Let us lift up all Christ’s churches.

Amen Pastor Jim, may we all pray!! Blessings!!
Our small congregation shares the building with another group that meets Sunday afternoons. They posted signs on every other pew marked “no” to maintain separation. We have such a small group that it would take a deliberate act to get closer than we should, but we joked this morning about defying the limits and each of us sitting in a “no” pew (which would have the same effect of keeping us at a safe distance from one another, since they closed every other pew). J.
Thank you for sharing that; is it another Lutheran church that rent from you guys?
No; it is a Spanish-speaking Baptist congregation. J.
So needed. I appreciate your heart in this. It should also serve as a wake up call as to what’s to come in the West. How was Church today, is this your second Sunday back?!
This is our family second Sunday and officially the whole church invited to come back. Last week we did service at church but we showed via zoom to the congregation what we were doing as a protocol for the members to know what we are doing. We are doing everything compliant with our state and today was a lot of work also with cleaning things after service since our church is doing a lot of building renovation. We’re not a hip church and trying to make things nice and cheap to last for a while since who knows when will be the major renovation and this was probably the first time in 30 years. So tiring day but joyful. How are you and how is your Sunday???
Praying for God to refresh you! Enjoy your time off tomorrow! It’s been a good day. Had a nice weekend with Nathan and friends. Thanking God for you, Nancy and kiddos!
Prayer is God’s way of taking the high ground and thinking of others with grace.
During this pandemic crisis, public health regulations have varied by state and compliance has varied by church. Yes, without getting into a debate about the defiant response of some pastors and churches to government regulations we can pray for churches that face legal battles.
That is exactly what I was aiming for and your comment captured exactly what I wanted to say: pray! Crazy day at work yesterday? Studying Genesis tonight for teaching kids family devotional tomorrow =)
Thanks, brother. I’m ready for lots of R&R today. Lord bless your prep and lesson today!
So true. We ought to be praying for one another and encouraging each other to follow Christ and His word understanding that each state varies in their rules and each church is autonomous.
Thanks
