For today’s post we will tackle the question the Skeptic Annotated Bible asked: May strangers observe the Passover?

Here are the two answers which the skeptic believes indicate a Bible contradiction:

And if a stranger resides among you and celebrates the Passover to the Lord, according to the statute of the Passover and its ordinance, so he shall celebrate it; you shall have the same statute, both for the stranger and for the native of the land.’”” (Numbers 9:14)

At least if they’re circumcised.

But if a stranger resides with you and celebrates the Passover to the Lord, all of his males are to be circumcised, and then he shall come near to celebrate it; and he shall be like a native of the land. But no uncircumcised male may eat it.” (Exodus 12:48)

And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, “This is the ordinance of the Passover: no foreigner is to eat it;” (Exodus 12:43)

(All Scriptural quotation comes from the New American Standard Bible)
