For this Sunday here’s what you can do: See if your church can help with India and Nepal With Second Covid Lockdown.
I have covered a few weeks ago a Sunday post on Pray for India and Nepal Concerning the Rise of Virus Infections. That is actually one of our regular prayers in our church. Besides the virus there is also the consequences of a lockdown which has been going on for a month now: People who have very little are suffering from an economy that have come to a standstill.
Regardless your politics with your perspective of what the government should and should not do one can admit that the lockdown hurt people in India and Nepal especially the poor. Back in March BBC published an article titled “Covid-19 disruptions killed 228,000 children in South Asia, says UN report” and had this to say:
The disruption in healthcare services caused by Covid-19 may have led to an estimated 239,000 maternal and child deaths in South Asia, according to a new UN report.
It’s focused on Afghanistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, home to some 1.8 billion people.
The report found that women, children and adolescents were the worst-hit.
One of those countries has now the highest Covid transmission rate in the world while also having struggling medical infulstructure even before Covid:
Besides prayer I want to ask if you might be able to help in other tangible ways by brainstorming with your church. James 2:15-16 leaped out at me tonight: “If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and be filled,” yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?”
There are believers from that area that I know. They have reached out with me for help. Our family plan to help. But we are only one family. I’m going to ask our church during today’s church servant meeting in the afternoon if others can help out too financially as an official church effort. No matter what the church plans to do we are going to already send funds to help first.
I know not everyone can be in the position to get their church to figure out what help looks like. If you can at least pray for our local church be able to step up at this time to help believers there.
We should all do this. Jesus calls on us to help and not sit on the sidelines.

Heartfelt. The appeal to James is true. Do you have any organizations you would suggest? I will inquire what our church is doing to help India and Nepal and get back to you. Praying for your sermon and meeting today. Love, hugs and blessings to you, Nancy and kiddos!
I do not know of any organization directly at this time. For our church I’m trying to get it where we send it directly to the pastor overseeing the orphaniage we are supporting but this specific thing we are trying to do is to help with their members medical needs (and I hope also we can support with further funds that would be flexible for them to have on hand for any other needs they can help with). Have a blessed Lord’s Day Mandy!

I am re-posting today… Is there a link for how to send money ??
blessings in Christ, bruce
This is heart breaking…they have been through so much and taking out the ones responsible didn’t solve the problem they caused.
Let us pray for them; I’m praying this afternoon our church can work out something to help tangibly too; pray it would be an edifying planning meeting!
Reblogged this on a simple man of God.
Thanks for the good exhortation, brother!
You’re welcome! Hope our church planning meeting on this would be fruitful this afternoon. How is your shift going?
RE: shift
Thanks! Winding down – less than an hour. A slow last day for an overall unusually slow weekend. Hope you’re having a good day!
Praying for churches around the world to aid the churches and those whom GOD might call in India and Nepal. Blessings to you and your family!
Your prayer mean so much as we plan with our local church today what we can do. We need prayer for wisdom and willingness to help! Thanks once more!
Amen. In prayer.
Thank you for your prayers very much. Been praying about this all day. I’m going to start our church servant meeting in an hour and a half, pray we as church would think of something and do something to help 🙏🙏
In prayer. Amen.
Thank you Pastor for bringing forth their grief and suffering. The sad thing is, most churches are so happy-clappy and wrapped up in ‘connect groups’ that they have no true sorrow for Christ’s suffering Body.
I believe that if a church cried out in earnest for those who suffer, God would open a real door to minister and provide.
He commanded us to love each other, no doubt He’ll make the way to obey that command.
Press on brother, thank you again.
I agree many churches are into programs for pleasing self than ministering and loving others including overseas believers in dire need
This is so so sad. Those poor people. It’s heart breaking.
Amen to Germson Clark’s prayer 🙏
Thanks for your care. Our church has decided to send funds to a network of churches in one of these countries for the next few months and the decision was made after our servant meeting today. I was praying our church can be involved which I’m our guys are willing; pray for our members to sustain this commitment and this would be some help
That’s great news.
Will be praying.
Blessings
That’s great! I have a friend in one of those countries that is a pastor who trains pastors, and he is distributing food through them to their areas, but donations have been sparse. I wanted to set up a GoFundMe, as those things raise thousands for specific causes. But part of the process involves giving out my social security number, which is a big “NO” in our house. I sent him a donation, but it wasn’t nearly what I had wanted to. Still, when he sent me pictures of the people getting the food (men with huge bags of rice or beans over their shoulders and women carrying them on their heads) I was pleasantly surprised at how much food American dollars will buy.
If anyone wants to help, especially if you don’t mind doing a GoFundMe (I know people who have done those, and they haven’t had a problem.) email me at bascha3870@yahoo.com and I can give you my friend’s contact information. Put “help people in lockdown” as the subject, so I know it’s not spam. 😉
Thanks for sharing this. We are doing something similar; so I’m glad to see you helping and also I will pray your comment here might find someone willing to help. We are in serious times…May God move the church to go all out to help with His Work…this is my prayer!
Thanks, Jim, that’s very gracious of you. It occurred to me after commenting that you had already given them a chance to help. Hopefully many people will rise up and send their gifts to wherever the Lord directs. There’s certainly enough need to go around. 💔
😭 so sad

May others continue to join in these efforts. I have been connecting with one my readers from India, and keeping my prayers focused on so many.
