First weekend of the month are typically more busy for me than other weekends during the month.
Typically we have youth group on Saturday Morning and of course Sunday service.
Every other Saturday I also teach in the afternoon going through Berkhof’s systematic theology with some guys online.
Also on the first Friday of the month is our church’s couple’s meeting.
And this past weekend we had all of this in one weekend.
We covered social science data that affirm the importance of fatherhood as taught in the Bible, how we need to serve God even in our youth, the Trinity, and Jesus’ death and communion.
Of course there is counseling along the way, praying for individuals, praying for overseas work of God, answering questions and having discussions that can be general to the obscure such as what is a good book on Inerrancy, in light of a Reformed philosophy of a language can we say some languages is better than others, what is Protestantism and the Spirit of Capitalism, what does this Bible passage mean, etc.
I’m reminded the importance of 2 Timothy 3:16= “All Scripture is [a]inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for [b]rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man or woman of God may be [c]fully capable, equipped for every good work.“
But I’m also aware of people’s prayers that sustain any pastor’s ministry, that it is God who is working.
I’m going to sleep for now.
May our GOD pour more blessings to you, your family, and your effort in service of the Triune GOD and edification of His children, superSlim
Thanks for your words of encouragement. I hope you are doing well? Been praying for Asia a lot and that include PI to have vaccine roll out
I’m fine! I hope you are doing well too?
Thanks for all you do for spreading the good news of Jesus and His Way. Also, thanks for your help on Twitter during this busy time as well.
Blessings for some solid rest!
Ah I forgot about that when I wrote the post, it was indeed a busy weekend! I was also caught up with another atheist that someone on FB tag our Veritas Domain FB page. Let’s pray for that Jim atheist guy today, for His salvation, yeah? (You probably already doing it)
Amen! Jim is a special case for sure. Ex-Christian atheist getting a Ph.D in Theology.
May God continue to bless you and your ministry for the sake of His Name.
Thank you Dora! Grateful for your words of blessings! Wow did you find on WordPress or some other social media? Blessings to you!
Hi Jim,
Found you through a link on Frank Hubeny’s blog to your blog post on best times for daily Bible readings but I was already familiar with you through your comments on “Gersom Clark’s” blog. Happy to be able to pray for you.

Thank you so much for your prayers; they mean a lot. Glad it’s Monday though; We are having lunch out today, Chinese food. Our couples meeting is on Zoom! Once a month! First Friday night of the month! How are you?
Good to know about the Friday meeting! It’s a great day! How was your Chinese food?!
Sounds like the labor of a faithful servant, May God bless you and strengthen you and encourage you as you labor as a good steward of the King.
Thank you for the encouragement; how are you doing brother?
Settling in, doing well, thanks.
Sounds like you’ll need a day of rest after your Sabbath …
Yes I do! Today was that sabbath day! Thanks! Got to do reading of the Bible for myself and not to teach for today 🙂
[…] Busy Ministry 1st Weekend of June 2021 and thoughts on 2 Timothy 3:16 […]
I’ve shared this on my blog (even though I don’t have “Reblog” anymore, I’ve worked around it):
Christian bloggers have to support each other.
Rest well, brother.
