For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Encourage a father that’s an Example to Others.
A few weeks ago I wrote “Encourage a father going through a hard time with his kids” which was geared towards ministering to those who are fathers going through a tough time. This current post is not the same as that one, just in case some readers might remember and wonder! This post in particular is to encourage those who are being faithful as fathers and serve as an example to others to continue to do the right thing, for the sake of glorifying God.
Do you know anyone in your church who is a godly father to his kids? Think of a father who is consistent in being biblical. He is someone who perseveres through the hardship. He also seem wise with how he handles his kids. Especially the balance between love and tough love.
Let him know how you are encouraged. Let him know that its not just his effort you see but God’s work in him.
Scripture at times tells readers to continue to do what is right, not that the original audience wasn’t doing what was commanded but to encourage them to continue to walk in a godly way. If the Bible does that, shouldn’t we in fellowshipping at church also do something similar?

Amen! Happy Father’s Day! Such good encouragement this morning!
Aw thanks! Hope you are having a good blessed Lord’s Day today!
Went to church and spent the day with my Dad, Nathan and PQ so it was really nice. What are you guys doing for Father’s Day?!
Very well said. Thanks for being a great father. Blessings from mighty King Jesus.
Happy Fathers Day Jim
Thanks Julie may you have a blessed Father’s Day with your husband and son!
Been keeping kiddos since last Wednesday for mom and dad to go on a trip— they come back today 😊
Jim,
Amen! I read this just after a post on a struggling father and thought how they complemented each other. Here’s the link:
Blessings to you on this Father’s Day!

I’m grateful for Anna’s blog. Thanks for sharing. I hope today as the Lord’s Day and Father’s Day is somehow meaningful for you and I know for some it’s also hard with Father’s Day….
Also the first day of summer, which I hope you are enduring the heat wave!

I immediately think of two of my friends specifically when people talk about godly parents. One I had the privilege of discipling when he graduated high school (he even said he wanted to find his own Caitlin like mine, and then he married a Caitlin!), and the other I have shared a house with when we needed a place to live, helping raise their daughter for the first year of her life. (We still help quite a bit!) These are two godly men who are aware of their faults, Seek God’s help to be better, and love their kiddos like noone else.

Happy Father’s day! 🙂
Thank you for this call to action and A blessed Sunday to you, Nancy, and your kids!
Thank you Kent; in the Philippines was Sunday also Father’s Day or do you guys have it on another day?
Filipinos celebrated it in the same day as the Americans, Jim.
Thanks for this exhortation, and Happy Father’s Day! I always felt the church could do better at offering practical counsel on marriage and raising children much more often. At our previous churches they focused on these extremely important issues just a few times a year.
Yeah I feel this needs to be taught more regularly. Obviously Gospel is important and center stage so sometimes I meet with people one on one to disciple with this or I am so glad we have a Monthly couple’s meeting to go over things! Happy Father’s Day by the way, hope your shift wasn’t too crazy?
Thanks! We’ll be celebrating Father’s Day on Wednesday, a consequence of working the weekend shift.
Today went very well, thanks. Mostly auditing which is a breeze. I also spent a long time carefully composing an email to my boss’s boss because I found out the auditor during the week is doing something fundamentally wrong with how he presents his data, proving once again that managers rarely look closely at things they ask for.

I wholeheartedly agree! I sent messages to my two sons on Father’s Day telling them how proud I am that they are wonderful fathers. If every father was a good, God-fearing father, we would live in a different world. Fathers are important. Love this post! Blessings, Jim!
Amen Cindy that is so true, God bless you with your two sons being fathers! Seems to me sometimes many in my generation of guys are marrying later or not even married at all 😢. I don’t know if it feels like that too in your part of the country
Thanks for the encouragement.
Amen.
