Do you ever hear some mockers of the faith say that on the Great Judgment Day they will stand before God and bravely accuse God of wrong doing and God not being fair, or they wish to express blasphemy towards God?
Never felt comfortable when people say that.
But I don’t think it will turn out the way they think.
I was watching some court videos. For those who know there is an offense called “Contempt of the Court” related to how one conduct oneself when Court is in session.
Irreverent attitude, behavior and action will not be tolerated.
An example is this infamous viral video seen in the first three minutes and fifty seconds:
Her irreverent matter lead the judge to pronounce her “contempt of the court” which resulted in higher bail and sentenced to jail. But notice how three minute fifty one second into the clip we see another scene in which she served her sentence; notice the change of attitude.
Here’s another video:
Again notice the change of attitude.
I like the expression in 5:15 minute with this case of an attorney having contempt of the court:
I suspect in my view something similar will be going on with sinners being judged by God. Or even more powerful: Everyone will know they are guilty and God’s presence of Holiness would make people bow and the rebellion they think they want to do on Judgment Day will not happen.
If you have not been made right with God and reading this, I hope you get saved from the Wrath of God that is to come. How? Trust in Jesus. Trust in Christ that He died for sinners who trust in Him. Believe Jesus is God becoming a man, and in HIs humanity Christ lived sinless life, then died on the Cross and raised on the Third Day.
Yes, those blasphemers think their morality is higher than God’s and that they will sit in judgment of him. They should note how the Israelites reacted after Moses read them the 10 Commandments: Exodus 20:18–19 Now when all the people saw the thunder and the flashes of lightning and the sound of the trumpet and the mountain smoking, the people were afraid and trembled, and they stood far off and said to Moses, “You speak to us, and we will listen; but do not let God speak to us, lest we die.”
Just getting a glimpse of God quickly changed them. The atheist bravado will vanish in an instant. They think they are smart, but the notion that the puny, fragile created beings will dictate terms to the almighty God shows how ridiculously foolish they are.
Wow amen to what you said: “ Just getting a glimpse of God quickly changed them. The atheist bravado will vanish in an instant.” His Holiness and might will be enough to silence them but God’s omniscience and righteousness and justice will fortify the fact that atheist self-righteous bravo will melt more faster than ice in the sun. Thanks for your comment brother, hope your health is doing well, glad you’re also on Gab by the way.
Great post and videos! At best, God will say to these folks the same thing He said to Job, “where were you when I…?” Job had faith went, from knowing about God to knowing God Himself. God may not even ask a question to folks on their judgment day but rather just pronounce their faithlessness and cast them out. I don’t know what will happen but I do know that God’s judgment is real. God is Just and He cannot and will not be mocked. Folks have no idea the power of God. Love and blessings to you, Nancy and kiddos!
I suspect whatever happen on Judgment Day will not be like what many think it will be like. Something tells me all His attributes together will silence people’s mouths on the Day of Judgment; including God’s mercy and kindness, showing sinners have no excuse, and sinners instead can be brazen when guilt sweep over them for having taken God’s kindness for weakness or license to sin. How is your Saturday so far?
Great day! Saw my aunt and cousin. My former cohort finally met in person and the one guy is here from overseas so we are going to meet them in Baltimore for dinner. Also, I am so sorry that I hung up on y’all and I really appreciate y’all taking the time to Skype with us. It really meant a lot to me!
Even in legislative hearings, there is also a possibility that one can be in contempt for similar cause. This is just like a clay angry at the potter. But you are right, Jim, GOD is Holy and His radiant holiness is like a wifi; feeding ultrafast data on the person on his/her mistakes before he/she can even utter a word (and then jaw drop to 🔥). Blessings to you, Nancy, and your kids!
True even in legislative hearings and legislative subcommittees people can be held for contempt! (This reinforce my thesis last night you know a lot). Good point about how this is like a clay angry at the Potter, very biblical motif! Hope you were able to have a blessed Saturday for the rest of the day yesterday?
Everyday is a blessed day! Now, is actually a good weather with medium rains and thunderstorms ⛈. It is good because it is has cool wind in this hot summer.
Jim,
It will be far more terrifying than any can imagine. Jude warns us against speaking abusively even about angelic powers/authorities we know not of:
“Yet in the same way these people also, dreaming, defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak abusively of angelic majesties. But Michael the archangel, when he disputed with the devil and argued about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him an abusive judgment, but said, ‘The Lord rebuke you!’ But these people disparage all the things that they do not understand; and all the things that they know by instinct, like unreasoning animals, by these things they are destroyed.“
Also thinking of Revelation 16 when the Lamb breaks open the sixth seal:
“Then the kings of the earth and the eminent people, and the commanders and the wealthy and the strong, and every slave and free person hid themselves in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains; and they said to the mountains and the rocks, ‘Fall on us and hide us from the sight of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; for the great day of Their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?’” (vv. 15-17, NASB)
May those who presume to mock God now repent and seek God while He may be found before it is too late.
Grace and peace,
dora
Dora, this is really excellent and would make a great post! Thanks for sharing this!
Thank you so much for saying so, Mandy! These Bible verses just popped out at me as further argument to what Jim had already wisely written.
Blessings to you and yours today!
dora
Dora thank you for sharing those passage which really shows mockers today don’t know who they are dealing with! Your comment led me to pray for some mockers of God I know or have known in my life. May they repent before that Great Day of the Lord!
Amen.🙏
I was thinking these very things Dora, “far more terrifying” indeed.
Excellent brother. Love the videos. On the day of judgement, I want to hear “well done, good and faithful servant.”
Unfortunately some will hear from Jesus directly “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.”
This has to motivate us to spread the good news of Jesus and quadruple our evangelistic efforts.
Blessings my friend.
Was this woman quite all there?
[…] Contempt of the Court and thinking about God’s Judgment Day […]
The sight of God made Isaiah feel his sinfulness and he was a faithful servant of God. I wonder how much worse it will be for those who have never even tried to obey him.
Indeed good point Clyde. Sometimes when I evangelize I notice bringing up the law to those who harden themselves to the things of God provoke extreme reaction from shaking, extreme nervousness and conviction and desire to flee. Something a hundred times worst than that probably will be happening with rebels on Judgment Day, don’t you think??
Thanks for these videos. People quickly change their tune after the jail cell door clangs shut. Atheists, agnostics, and even nominal “Christians” (I was one) scoff and scorn, but someday every knee will bow and every tongue confess.
So true: “People quickly change their tune after the jail cell door clangs shut.” How much more with eternal judgment of God. How is your shift going?
RE: Shift
Thanks. Very hectic yesterday, but today will be smoother. Hope you had a good prep day!
Good one, Slim! God is just awesome, He will help you sort out all your complaints, but you have to be sober minded and practice some intellectual humility. The book of Job is my favorite because it reminds us that we don’t have all the answers. God is the one who hung the stars in the sky., not us.
This is criminal court that you’ve shown us but there’s also civil court. That’s what the persistent widow was after, a redress of grievances, justice, the righting of wrongs. We have an advocate in Jesus, a lawyer if you will, and we can take our complaints to the Judge. LOL, not saying we’ll win, but He’s a good God and He takes care of His own if we just approach Him with a bit of persistent humility. 🙂
Wow good point IB with the civil court and especially with the widow seeking redress; very VERY good, we need each other sister!
Excellent.
Thank you; have a blessed Weekend Bonnie, thanks for the FB like on our page and post!
Welcome.:)
That’s how I see it happening as well: “Everyone will know they are guilty and God’s presence of Holiness would make people bow and the rebellion they think they want to do on Judgment Day will not happen.”
Amen. Hope you are having a blessed Saturday brother
I can’t even begin to imagine how horrible it will be for those who will come before God in judgement. Those that laugh and mock God’s judgement now will not be laughing on that day. Thank you for sharing these videos and message.
God bless you.
I pity them for their ignorant.
I have had far too many conversations about what it will be like when we go before God. Too many in that we do not know. But I agree with you that we will be so overpowered by God’s holiness that we will be unable to stand. As for other non-believers and “Christians” who are arrogant and feel superior to God, I can only pray for them. There is little use in argument, and they do not want to simply discuss.
