I was recently interviewed for Rooted In Revelation Podcast (Facebook page here). It is a podcast that touch on theology, apologetics and Christian living. This is hosted by Nate Burns.
What was the topic? How Old Testament Directs Our Philosophy Of Evidence. Basically its a discussion about apologetics, apologetics’ methodology, the Old Testament, Biblical Theology, Messianic Prophecy and how we evaluate evidences.
Here’s the description Nate provided:
Have you ever asked yourself why you accept the evidence that seems persuasive to you? There are many methodologies to how we can come to accept truth, and as Christians, we need to root our thinking in God’s revelation (His revealed word). In this episode, Jim Lee comes on to talk with us about how the Bible tells us we should handle evidences.

Thank you for the spotify link, Jim! I’ll add this in my list of things to watch or listen (mp3); all from your posts. Blessings to you and your family!
Thanks for adding it! That’s awesome you use spotify; I think you are pretty savvy and very good with gadgets, tech and online stuff =)
You have no idea!!! Kent is seriously gifted!
Thank you Mandy! Grateful to GOD for His direction.
Congratulations. Thanks for the great resource.
Blessings.
Thank you. Adding this to my list.
Blessings
Thanks for adding this to the list! I think the second part of this discussion is the best when we go over Messianic anticipation of Christ from the Old Testament! I imagine you love Messianic prophecies!
I sure do . Looking forward to listening
Looks interesting, my friend. I’m going to listen to this via my ear pods while cutting the grass today.
How was cutting the grass today? I imagine you cut the grass early before it gets warm during the day. How long does it usually take to cut the grass at your place? Let me know any thoughts you have of this post!
I usually split up the grass cutting into two days, but my wife’s cousins are coming over for dinner tomorrow so I did the whole lawn from 10 AM until 1 PM. Phew! I’m pooped Yup it’s warm (86F) in ROC. Nothing like a cold shower after cutting the lawn on a hot day. BUT the grass cutting marathon did give me a chance to listen to your entire podcast session (as well as another blogger’s video). It was a real blessing! I really enjoy Old Testament typology as you know and it was great to hear you and the brother discuss how the Old Testament provides abundant self-evidence of the Messiahship of Jesus Christ. Great discussion!
Thanks much. Adding to my list. Blessings today!
Here are my thoughts after listening to the very informative podcast.
I think I understand biblical theology. It uses the Old Testament as evidence, or a common presupposition, for Jesus as the Messiah. Indeed that does convince me the most. Imagine having Jesus without the Old Testament. I like the connections between Mark 6 and Psalm 23 and between Luke 20 and Psalm 110 as examples of what biblical theology tries to accomplish.
I also agree that intelligent design (Hugh Ross, for example) is not very convincing. Sometimes intelligent design even supports unbelief in the Old Testament as when it agrees with the Big Bang (William Lane Craig). I do find Answers in Genesis (Ken Ham) along with archeological finds, to the extent that they agree with the Old Testament, helpful. They are helpful because they support the inerrancy of the Bible.
In general about apologetics and an unbeliever, I agree that an unbeliever can always come up with a rescuing device to reject the scientific evidence. Listening to Jason Lisle and Greg Bahnsen it seems one can avoid evidential rescuing devices by finding contradictions with the presuppositions of the unbeliever rather than specific evidence. This is worth doing, but it assumes that the unbeliever is rational. Unbelievers often are not. An unbeliever’s presuppositional rescuing device in this case would be to initiate ad hominem attacks including lying, that is, become fallacious in their reasoning. When even that doesn’t work there is always the option of physical assault. A Christian cannot go there because we know the Father and the Son as in John 16:1-3 and they don’t.
Thank you for the presentation and the list of resources at the end.
Brother that is amazing to read your comment and see you listened to this and thought through things with this. I’m glad you brought up rescuing device as I didn’t mention that nor the the theme of suppression of truth, etc, which is often brought up when discussing apologetics methodology. I appreciated you noticing the connection between Mark 6 and Psalm 23, which I think shows how the OT and NT related to one another even at so many levels besides the direct Messianic prophecies we often know or think of right away. I hope this presentation helps us all love God and the Old Testament God has given us. God bless you Frank, hope you have a blessed day today!
P.S. I just added this additional comment after I read your blog post; I’m praying for that person attacking you and your post. God bless you Frank
This is very detailed brother
Listened to this on Anchor. It makes me feel like I’m in a classroom The Old Testament all points to Jesus as Savior.
Escellent.
Thanks! I’m honored to have been invited to be in this guy’s podcast and talk about defending the faith and going deeper into the Word of God! Thanks for all your presence on our Facebook page Maw Maw, really appreciate it!
Will listen to this tomorrow and give my thoughts, sorry I am behind!
So cool you got to do this
Ohhh so cool! I will definitely listen to this. Kind of late at the moment so maybe tomorrow or some time this week.

I do most of my audio listening during weekly bike rides. Saturday is our biggest ride of the week – 30+ miles. I had this queued up to listen and was ready to be edified by Jim. I listen via my Android phone and Aftershockz Aeropex headphones. They work well.
To my dismay, I could hear the interviewers just fine but just could not hear you (Jim). I wasn’t captain bummed, I was major bummed. 😦
Oh man…I need to improve the audio on my side I suppose. I need to listen to other podcasts if its my problem or its a problem with others being interviewed too =(.
Thanks brother for listening; wow does that major bike ride leave you still pretty tired today??
Not tired today, we’ve been doing the ride for many, many years. We ride about 70+ miles every week.
Found this under “related” from your post interviewing Ricky Roldan. Rooted in Revelation seems to be rolling out a lot of good contents

Good discussion
The Qal Perfect, you learn in 2nd year Hebrew, can actually be past present or future depending on context. So there might be even more prophecies in the OT preachers missed!
