For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Pray for the Evacuation in Afghanistan.
There’s only one airport to leave Afghanistan at this point in the Capital Kabul. And there’s only one way to enter while the journey would mean encountering Taliban checkpoints (source):
US troops are not going out of the airport to help Americans evacuate.
What makes it heavy for me to think is the fact that I’m sure there’s Americans and other Westerners in other parts of the country besides the capital and now with the Taliban take over there definitely won’t be internal Afghan flights for those Americans to head to Kabul to leave Afghanistan. Travel by road is hard with the rough terrain. Even if their are roads there are Taliban checkpoints.
And we must also not forget those Afghans who helped Westerners that need to escape.
I hope there won’t be a massive hostage situation or worst…
Each morning I wake up and I hope and pray there isn’t some of those radical hardened Al Qaeda types that would commit suicide bombing against targets near the Airport. This airport has only one runway. I’m afraid of mortar damaging the runway or something happen to an airplane that mess up the runway…that would be so dire to be able to get out of there. I am imagine there’s also a lot of horrific scenarios.
Next Sunday will also be another Sunday prayer for Afghanistan covering other aspects.
Dear God,
Help those who are in Afghanistan. Help those service members on the ground and in the air. Help government officials have wisdom, resources and strength to have this evacuation be a success with bringing people to safety. Even in this time bring people to Christ where they trust in Jesus as Savior of their sins.
In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
I am praying with you brother. This is very difficult to see happen.
Thanks so very much for your service to our country. It is comforting to know you and your brothers care so much for our freedom and safety.
Blessings for a stunning Sunday ministry. God is with you.

Praying alongside with so many others. Gathering together in the Lord’s name is one of our best tools. He is hearing these prayers.
Thanks for your comments on my blog just now! Indeed praying together is an incredible resource and not just last resort! Glad you are joining this prayer!

In Jesus name!!!!hear our cries oh Lord!!
Been slow on WordPress as many things going on with ministry and the news being so heavy. I’m sure you’ve seen the video of a Marine on a wall of the airport lifting a young baby over the wall? That was probably my emotional breaking point…
yep—we always seem to fall back rather than up—It reminded me of the Oklahoma City bombing rescue of the firefighter cradling a baby pulled out of that rubble as there was a childcare center on the first floor—or the picture from the Vietnam war of the young child running down the street burned with napalm—I pray for our humanity…
Praying.
Thanks for praying! I hope Australians in Afghanistan would be able to get evacuated too
Yes, evacuation procedures began a few days ago. 🙏
Amen. And may those helping our brothers and sisters and their families to escape from increased persecution be successful in all their efforts by God’s mercy and providence. 🙏
Amen I join you with those wish and prayers! Have a blessed Lord’s Day Dora!

This is a (beyond) harrowing situation all around for several groups of people (stranded Americans, Afghans who assisted America, Afghans who won’t acquiesce to the Taliban, and Christian believers). Yes, all we can do is pray.
To paraphrase Paul Washer I’m glad prayer isn’t our last resort but our lavish resource in Christ. (Well I added the word “lavish”). So glad we can go to God and pray. I been seeing on Facebook a US Army page with American veterans trying to tell the unit on the ground if they can help for specific translators on the ground and how the government official email and phone is unresponsive. Harrowing. This prompts me to pray…and pray a lot

Joining you in prayer, Brother Jim. Don’t mean to “preach” to the choir, but where two or three are gathered together in His Name. This may be in spirit, but in spirit we bear witness with one another and ARE together. Let the prayers flow! Amen and AMEN!
Amen Roland: “ but in spirit we bear witness with one another and ARE together. Let the prayers flow! ”. As our church have prayer meeting in the afternoon we will join you in prayer in the heavenly realm!
Praying with you. I am concerned about the whole region and the geopolitics of this as well. The Bible is coming to life before our eyes, this is frightening and also comforting. God is who He says He is and what He says will happen always does and on His time schedule. Nathan and I both were effected by the Marine and baby. Nathan walked away and I knew to let him go. Praise God that He is in control. It is also telling when the divided USA is in agreement that this is a HORRIBLE situation. May we point all people to Christ. I appreciate your humble, pastoral heart and theologians mind. Love and blessings to you, Nancy and kiddos.
We should be praying Come Lord Jesus
“Nathan and I both were effected by the Marine and baby. Nathan walked away and I knew to let him go.” Nathan is a warrior and a compassionate man. Those video and pictures of the Marines with the babies were very hard on me and Nancy. I think the one with the Marine sitting down smiling holding the baby really should be the cover on Time magazine and those guys on the ground be the Time person of the year. You are right it seems to be one of those images that everyone agree is sad and agree how horrible Afghanistan is turning into. And that speaks volumes. Man it’s so heavy. Praying…and please send my regards to Nathan yeah?
I did. Thank you, brother. How was service today? Praying for y’all.
Amen. In prayer.
I look forward to your feedback on my post I wrote on Afghanistan this week. We are seeing history repeat itself in Afghanistan. Back in 1989 this exact situation happened in Afghanistan when the last Russian Troops left Afghanistan and the Afghan Government crumbled by 1992 and then came Civil War and Anarchy. It is important to pray for Afghanistan in this time of crisis. But similar crisis like this are still happening in Burma, Yemen, and Somalia. Our biggest prayer should be Come Lord Jesus

SLIMJIM has a short but interesting post on Biden’s Afghanistan debacle. He ends with a prayer. We each should add our own. We should remember especially the Christians in Afghanistan. I suspect we will soon be saying there were Christians in Afghanistan.
Amen! United in prayer with you and so many others my brother!
Amen Andy, I join in that prayer; we are about to do a Bible study online (I’m in the West Coast) and tonight this is going to be a part of our prayers!
Joining with you from Mississippi!

Just remember it’s ok to mourn. Jesus wept for Lazarus even just before he resurrected him. Don’t hide your feelings either. ❤
It’ll get worse until politicians are held responsible with their life. Of course it’s the stupid citizens that voted them into office. So #TimeForSomeRealChangesInOurGovermentAndColledgedAndSchoolsNoIndoctranation.
It is time to pray for Ukraine like Americans did for Afghanistan. May the people of the Ukraine 🇺🇦 feel the power of the prayers of Christians around the world! Praying for peace and a miracle as they are under siege! 😢🙏❤️
Ukraine, spying on a presidential candidate. How many Republicans are going to breath the words impeachment? My guess… zero
The way Biden departed Afghanistan has spiraled the world into political instability
What a perfect beautiful anointed post for this moment! Please Heal Afghanistan Lord and heal our Hearts and let there be no more suffering, hatred, or division. Please bring us all together in Christ at heaven with all of God’s people. In Jesus Name I Pray. Amen 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
