This is an e-book by Daniel Akande of Pushing the Antithesis blog.
Here’s a Description:
FREE E-BOOK: I AM, therefore I think
I AM, therefore I think presents an easy-to-follow defense of the Christian worldview.
While Rene Descartes tried to establish the existence of the self by appealing to the reality of thought, I AM, therefore I think establishes the I AM of Scripture as the precondition of all human thinking…

I reposted your post. And I wonder if you might be philosophically open minded enough to consider a slightly different rendition about the biblical “I am”.
This seems it might go over many people’s head including my own. Do you have any concerns of reading other philosophy into the text of the Bible things that are foreign in concepts from the author and original intended audience? Curious.
Well, I am not reading any philosophy into the Bible. I am reading the Bible for what it tells me. And when we read the Bible in the context that is given us, which is to say, not exclusive to the Bible as if hermeneutics or something — given us in the full context of all that is meaning and not exclusive, we might see that what the Bible is saying is a lot different than what we’ve been taught.
It just so happens then that certain philosophical proposals begin to resonate in a new way, into history, into religion, into faith, into belief.
I have not taken a philosophy and applied it to the Bible. I was raised Lutheran, I read the Bible. It means somethings sure and true. And it just so happens that various philosophies likewise bring the universe into a different kind of truth then one that needs any sort of faith for it to work.
I think I just repeated myself. Lol
I don’t think that the moment of decisive significance should negate what you’re saying in your book or in Christianity in general. However, it can be read that way. So the interesting question to me is why would people understand the moment of the size of significance is saying something different then the Christian religion in general teaches.
Seems interesting
I wrote the book. And published it on my own. Maybe the same way that you did.
Yet, even after five go throughs, there is still some edits. But I just gave up. I figure I’ll go back to it at some point and clean it up.
I could send you a PDF for the whole book for free if you are interested in reading it.
The beginning part, and then the very end part are more philosophical. More having directly to do with applying my reading of the Bible to these philosophical proposals.
The main body of the book just goes through the gospel of John and brings in the other gospels as well. And then references the “I am” in part of it.
Admittedly, I have not looked at your book yet. From your short introduction, I just thought it was interesting that you were going to talk about it in a sort of philosophical manner but in the context of being a Christian. I’m gonna go back and see if I can’t check it out and I’ll read it. Just to put my money where my mouth is😁
Interesting that you have that whole sign-up thing. It looks like you know a little bit more about technology and e-books and stuff like that then I know. I basically don’t know how to do anything with this stuff !
Oops, so sorry, I didn’t know it was going to post the whole link thumbnail or whatever. You can go ahead and delete those. I can’t at this end.
I thought it would just give you the link.
Maybe this is a better link: https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/43350037-the-moment-of-decisive-significance
Yeah, delete these Amazon links. They’re ridiculous sorry again.
That’s a brilliant title. Looks good. I might wait for the paperback.
Awesome. How are you doing Mike with everything?
Reblogged this on Talmidimblogging.
I love that book’s title. 🙂
I think I would enjoy this! Thanks for the free availability notice. I remember signing up for a philosophy course at the local community college as an elective thinking it would be a breeze, but the prof had us memorize a very long list of facts. Descartes with his “I think, therefore…” was the first on the list. The title is a clever twist on Descartes from a presup POV.
You know enough of philosophy to recognize the play on the famous philosophical saying! How was your day today (Tuesday)??
I just know enough about philosophy to be sloppily dangerous! No need to get too deep into philosophy as it’s largely unbelievers’ attempts to explain life outside of the Bible. I remember hearing very young that RC seminarians studied Aristotle and Aquinas much more than the Bible.
Nice cover
