For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Pray for your church’s Deacons.
Today our church will have a deacon’s meeting. It made me think about how important church deacons are for the church.
I realize there’s idea of deacons out there that might not be biblical; I see deacons as first among servants in the church; that is, servants who are leaders in how they serve both in example and their responsibilities. For more information check out our ” “The Church’s Mission And The Need For Deacons” by Adam Waller.
Pray for the deacons to continue to be biblical in the qualification.
Pray for the deacons to serve God.
Pray for their strength.
Pray for their wisdom.
Pray for their unity.
Pray for them to have joy in Christ with what they do.
I am praying brother! Blessings for an amazing Sunday.

Very good prayer points brother. We are now attending a small, growing church – I’ll be praying for the Lord to call in more sheep and raise up deacons!
I hope all is well Pastor.
Wow praise God thanks for sharing where you are with the church update; also if you can pray for my church, today’s deacons meeting some expressed they are so tired and need to be rotated out but we also rotate in qualified deacons and not compromise!
I will surely be praying for your deacons and your church family. May the Lord refresh His servants and draw in others. Have a good week brother!
It is good to remember to pray for our churches’ leadership and not take them for granted.
Amen brother amen! I am indebt to people who pray for church leadership!
I miss being able to go to church in person, but still pray for them.
Aww. How are you?? It just dawn on me you live in South Carolina?? Just came back visiting Charleston and man it was nice!!!
I seem to be better. I’m off the prednisone and my blood sugar seems to be more stable. My wife spent her teen years in Charleston. It’s a wonderful town! Hope you and your family are well!
Deacons can be a huge help to the pastors and the congregation if utilized. In many churches it’s largely an honorary/ceremonial office.
” In many churches it’s largely an honorary/ceremonial office.” Good point I can see that being the case. I know in seminary they taught us that sometimes churches might not understand what are the qualifications of deacons or even their roles and even thinking of deacons as elders but without the elder qualifications. A few years back I taught a series on deacons and that led God to have our church affirm some members to be new deacons. Always exciting to see God’s people serving Him through the Church. How was your shift on Sunday Tom?
I may have mentioned to you previously that a young member of my old IFB church attended Liberty University and for his master’s’ thesis he wrote about church polity. He interviewed the IFB pastor who admitted in a candid moment that the deacon board was all for show and that he ran the church as he saw fit.
I’m doing good, thanks Jimmy! The intestinal virus appears to be pretty much gone. I really appreciated the lighter schedule at work this past weekend to break back in. When I was out sick the previous weekend, my co-workers assumed I had had enough and quit/retired! 13.5 months to go.
What do have scheduled for your rest day?
Amen.
Anyone in church leadership positions deserves our heartfelt prayers. Thanks for sharing this encouraging thought.
This is easy to do and meaningful
Let us not forget our Deacons
