Some of you know my most productive time of studying is from 9PM-4AM. I also sometimes have music on. So I thought I share with you “Study Music: Oldies Classics Christmas Play with Fireplace Background.”
A few days ago I have one of these Youtube videos playing and my kids really love the animated welcoming images of cozy winter setting. That’s a plus.
Before I do that remember Jesus is God coming to become man to save us from our sins.
Note Matthew 1:21=
She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
To be saved from our sins one should see one’s sinfulness against God, confess those sins to Him, and trust in Jesus alone to save one from the deserving wrath of God. It is a free gift!
Ok onto the song (and for me, onto late night studies for Church and future blog posts):
Reblogged this on Truth2Freedom's Blog.
Excellent Video! I’m going to reblog this and share it with my family! Thanks Brother!
It is a wonderful time of year. Thanks for the great music suggestion. Blessings for a wonderful day of preparation for ministry.
There are several “study and concentration” music videos on YouTube that I use for focusing. A few are geared toward ADHD and have pronounced bass notes, so I use those sparingly and during normal waking hours. Some are classical, and one is “pink noise with rain”, which helps with my tinnitus and drowning out noisy people in neighboring apartments.
While some do help me focus, there are others with outlandish claims, including aligning your chakras, healing your DNA, attracting angels (makes them sound like invisible animals), and other things. Clickbait.
Forgot to add that I used to be able to work with regular songs, but now they distract me and I want to sing along or look up histories of the performers.
Bob thanks for sharing! Fascinating to learn of how you listen to music and what kind of music you use and the kinds of music out there. Very interesting!!!
December 12 is Frankie’s birthday. I didn’t have a video picked out for my post that day, so my sarcastic self put in “Come Fly with Me” since the post is about flight.
You’re a better person than me brother, crooner Christmas irritates my being! I do however like the Yule log videos with classical transitional music or traditional Christmas carols. Those videos are usually the same songs over and over again. Thanks for sharing some insight into your study habits!!!!
Wow those sounds like what I usually enjoy! I normally don’t prefer when there’s singing but for some reason this oldies was an exception! Maybe it’s also because they are classics…yet when I think further I do listen too when I study history or economic or political lectures, sermons etc…so maybe my preference for no speaking and singing has serious exceptions lol. How is your trip so far??? Be safe. This I pray…
It’s awful we already checked out of the hotel, we will be on our way home by 430pm EST praise the Lord! Praying for the youth. What is happening in American cities defies what I can comprehend. Not to sound like a wacko, I am thankful that I live in an area where we would still survive if food shortages, water toxicity, electric grid shut down occurred. That people will defecate on the street with no regard I just can’t!
I’ll try this one. Thanks brother.
Do you normally listen to things when you study??
Yes brother.
Lovely!! Your powers of concentration are better than mine though: I can only barely tolerate instrumental music in the background while I read or write. My husband has the same nocturnal productive time as you. God bless you brother as you work to grow in deeper understanding of God’s word and to shepherd the church in your care. 🙏🙂
Wow it’s fascinating to learn of how others work and write, both for you and your husband. I imagine you are more a morning person with reading and writing? Thanks for those words of blessings sister Dora!!
Well it is that time of year but normally I go for just music…no voice…when I can remember to turn it on.
Gotcha I imagine the voice is distracting?

I’ll have to catch this video Sunday AM at home because it doesn’t play on my iPhone. I’m surprised, though. I figured you always had CNN playing in the background when you were studying and writing. 😉
Lol CNN playing in the background; now that I think about it I do play clips of news interview from time to time! How is your Saturday shift turning out???
RE: Saturday shift
Thanks! It’s busier than I thought because they added some additional orders, but there’s no work for tomorrow. They just gave my “fall back” audit job to somebody else because I rarely had time for it, so I’ll have to dig up something else for tomorrow.
That Christmas collection sounds like good background music to study by.
Thanks for sharing, Jim! Ofttimes, I listen to music when I draw or write.
I enjoy instrumental ukulele music. But brother, when do you sleep?
I try to go to sleep at 2 AM but last night I stayed up till 6 AM since I really wanted to refute this attack by the woke crowd and I have been working on that posts for days and didn’t want to delay it no longer! I’m sure you get in the zone with the Word of God! And it’s hard to stop and it becomes more powerful than…coffee? Do you drink coffee 🙂?
Yes I do and I certainly understand about the “zone.”
Jim this is great. Thanks for sharing. Blessings.
God bless you Paula, hope you are doing well!
