For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Pray for those with Omicron.
It seems omicron variant of Covid has spread rather rapidly. And as it spreads more people will get sick. And that include those whom you love and know. So its important to pray for them.
I think there’s some good sign so far with omicron: It doesn’t seem to be as lethal as the original and delta variant. Whereas the original and delta variants have people reporting lost of sense of taste and smell with omicron this seems less to be the case. Still its not easy being sick with any virus including omicron. There’s report that people with omicron are having night sweats unlike those with the earlier variants.
In all things let us pray.
Here in the UK we are further along the Omicron trail I believe; it does appear to be more infectious but less dangerous, which isn’t good news for the health service which is already stretched thin. Indeed the biggest effect of this new outbreak is staff shortages due to infections in many essential services. I hope and pray for the health of your essential service providers, your churches, pastors and families, and for those who are unwell or elderly. May the Lord guide their health care and comfort their families in these trying times. Amen. 🙏
Praying the same for the UK Alan; thanks for your prayers
So many people I know have been infected with the virus. Everyday more added to the list.
Same! I see more and more people being infected. I also got infected; Saturday was a rough day for me with the fever. Can’t wait to be done!
Sorry to hear that brother Jim. I will pray for your and your family .

I also pray that those who have received the vaccine are not harmed by it and that no one be required to be vaccinated. May they all be protected in Jesus name.
Praying.
Thanks for your prayers! My throat hurted a lot yesterday and I was trying to save my voice so I didn’t get to ask during the YouTh group: was your beanie a logo of Seattle Seahawks or some other team? Don’t watch much sports but it did look cool!
Praying for y’all!!!!! It’s a Philadelphia eagles hat, they are losing very badly to Tampa Bay😭😭😭
Good morning brother. Great Sunday prayer suggestion. I know many who have gotten the latest strain.
Blessings for a speedy recovery!
SLIMJIM,
Sorry to hear you’ve contracted it. You’ve got my prayers. Let’s pray for speedy recovery and relatively mild symptoms throughout.
If you’re not aware, NY based Dr. Zelenko has been treating patients since the beginning (early treatment to prevent hospitalization, though Omicron is seeing fewer cases requiring such, of course). Here are preventative strategies and treatments:

I’m no doctor, but I’d also recommend adding Pedialyte or other electrolyte replacement for proper hydration, along with plenty of water. Since I prefer natural over anything synthetic to the extent possible, if you have postnasal drip and a sore throat from it, nettle leaf (comes in capsules) works for me.
Thanks brother. I’m at this point I trust front line doctors more than politically appointed health figures. So I appreciate that. I also felt this was also very informative and we have church members who graduated from where he is a faculty at. Have you seen this? It’s pretty balance and not politically charged and informative https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vN30emwcNS4
I fully understand the skepticism. I have myriad reasons upon which to base my own skepticism.
I’d not seen that video; however, in looking at the info/titles on the timestamps, it seems like very good advice (again, I’m no doctor). I’ve been taking D (5000 IU), C (1000 mg), zinc glycinate (30 mg) and quercetin as prophylactic for quite a while now. Two weeks ago I doubled this in response (being proactive) to the high transmissibility of Omicron. A few days ago I came home from work feeling very tired, went to bed early, and after my usual breakfast early the next morning, I felt just fine. I’m a firm believer in ‘an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.’
I should clarify: The nettle leaf is to alleviate congestion and runny nose, not to sooth a sore throat.
…and magnesium glycinate (400-500 mg)…
Meant to add: I see good news with Omicron. Two recent studies appear to show those who’ve recovered from Omicron not only receive natural immunity from this variant but from the more lethal Delta, as well. And with the high transmissibility of Omicron, this may well indicate we could reach herd immunity very soon.
I know fewer people getting sick, but I have heard of more people I know being hospitalized and a few who passed away (though it has been Delta in those cases.) Someone I work with at GCU is the only one from his church staff (about 40 people) who us not currently sick with Covid, though all very mild.
Must people I know who are sick just have colds!
Get well soon, brother!
Thanks! And thanks for the reblog!
Naturally!

Good exhortation, brother! Hmm, from your comments above I take it you caught Omicron? Praying for your recovery!
Thanks for your prayers! Yeah it’s omicron; better that than the earlier and more hurtful variants! How is your day going???
Hope you get over it soon!
RE: day
Thanks! Slower than molasses here at work. Definitely my slowest weekend by far since I started.
p.s. A medical doctor stated on the news that he expected “everyone” would eventually catch Omicron because it is so contagious.
I’m sorry but I accidentally deactivated my WordPress site. Oops. So my new URL is: https://bbycgnwriting.wordpress.com/ 🙄
Sorry to hear…🙏🙏🙏
In prayer.
Thanks Maw Maw hope you are healthy and safe at this time!!!
Would appreciate pryer as I have Bronchitis. Thank you, Grand.
Thanks for posting this, Jim. I would have hit the like button, but for some reason WP isn’t wanting to load the buttons today.
WP seems to be having a glitch today; on your blog I have to refresh the page several times before I can see the button to click like. So I am glad I’m not the only one and that the glitch is not with my computer! I have had the problem for several days now, how about you???
Yeah, a couple of days. I don’t know about the weekend since the snow made us lose our internet until Monday morning.
Covid really spread at my church after Christmas Eve. We had 3 services and most people don’t think about the virus. Many got Covid in the last weeks. No deaths. My mom and older sister also got the virus in the last 2 weeks
