For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Email Sermon Notes to those who can’t make it to Service.
Sometimes other church members have legitimate reasons they can’t make it church. Sickness, health issues, elderly issues, etc.
I think it would be meaningful to type up your note taking and email it to a member. Besides the notes consider asking them too for prayers. Have some greetings and well wishes in the email too as you don’t want it to be nothing more than a “data” dump. I think it might be great to share one highlight from the sermon.
Do this prayerfully. Do this with an attitude of love. Do this with faith that the Word expounded will do its work.

That is a lovely way to share a sermon, it is more personal and loving for sure.
Aww thanks! How did your Lord’s Day go brother Alan?
Interestingly there is a link with what you say today and what happened in Glenrothes Baptist Church this morning! I had a great time of fellowship with two folk I had never met before, who both received my notelet cards with pleasant surprise. One of them came over and thanked me profusely after the service and prayed with me. On another note I made a point of taking written notes today of Pastor Jacob’s sermon, which I wasn’t sure I would be able to do (my eyesight is quite poor). As I looked at the finished notes at the end of the service it occurred to me I could share them on my blog…which I am going to do quite soon! Thus, it was a very blessed day Jim, how did your morning go brother?
Great idea
Thank you sir. How is your Lord’s Day going?
Ver well, your’s?
I hadn’t thought of using emails like this before. It seems like another way to encourage a small group within a local church. I do get emails from small group leaders, but I have not felt it appropriate to respond to the whole group except when we met live. However, it sounds like a good idea.
Thanks for reading this and sharing. Have a blessed Lord’s Day Frank!

I mean, this is one reason I blog my sermons. It was so parents and grandparents and a few others could hear/see/read them. Some of them have given up on technology or this world (passed away), but I still do it for the sake of the church and accountability.

Good exhortation! I appreciate the encouragement from my brothers and sisters in the Lord although I currently can’t be at church on Sundays. Hope you have a good service today!
Thanks!! How is your shift this morning???
RE: shift
Thanks! With all of the help I had yesterday, it’s a real slow day today. I don’t get these slow days often, so I appreciate the break.
Our new supervisor is much more aware and responsive. She’s starting to crack down on the unproductive workers (most of them), which is a huge task given our previous supervisor enabled such a bad work culture for so long.
I prayed for the Lord to prepare you and Corinne for a church once you retire multiple times this past week and will continue to do so.
Thank you.
We put our sermon notes online on our church website. We just changed bulletin formats (much smaller than previous!) and some like more room to write so they print them at home and bring them with to church. This also helps those who aren’t there to follow along. So glad for this encouragement! So thankful for ALL the ways the Lord is using you and your family!!!
That’s such a good idea. That’s actually very helpful. How did your weekend of ministry turn out Mandy?
I also learned after reading your post that our Sunday School teachers email their notes to those who are not able to attend. I am a chronic note taker so this Sunday’s challenge really resonated with me.
Busy but fruitful weekend! Did you preach from Ephesians today?!?!
What a great idea. Thank you for the encouragement.
You are welcome! I realIzed from the comments of others this can also be a good idea for blog posts! I’m sure most pastors don’t mind that!!!
Another great idea, one that I am sure pastor’s would welcome.
Yes, many ways to share the Word 🙌🙌🙌
Fine reminder. 🙂
You have such good ideas, Jim!
A beautiful post thank you so much
