[…] Presuppositional Apologetics’ Round Up: Third Week of February 2022 […]
David Steele made a good point in link 10 where he wrote about “Van Til’s charge of being rationalistic and irrational at the same time”.
This suggests a warning. Being “rational” means that we as human beings have the ability to justify our positions even if they are false by rationalizing them. We all have to be careful of this.
Amen. Van Til has one of his major teaching themes was the rational and irrational dialectic in which he noted nonbelievers swing between the two in their opposition towards God, in an intellectually schizophrenic way. I need to go to a seminary library one of these days and scan a copy of an out of print booklet on this theme by Van Til and post on here. People rationalize sinfully all the time and we must ultimately be concern about being faithful to God’s truth rather than be intellectual per se. It is not an IQ contest amen?
Thanks for the presup listing! I listened to the C2TC guys as usual and enjoyed the discussion about the Bible being the foundational “good vs. evil” story. It even gave me an idea for a future post!
I am glad it gave you an idea for a future post! I look forward to it…as I imagine it’s going to be apologetics related????
Thanks! Well, it’s going to be more along the lines of how people are so attracted to these “good vs. evil” stories/narratives in all types of secular entertainment, and that the root of these stories is the Biblical story of God.
What does your Tuesday look like?

There are several items here that caught my attention, and I’m grateful that Jim included my detective work article examining how a Christian and his church were attacked. The principles in that can be useful in many other situations.
I enjoyed the articles you shared
