For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Pray for Russia. Last week Sunday’s post was on Pray for Ukraine. But we must not forget as Christians to pray for Russia.
Pray for the people.
We must be spiritual as Christians. Let us pray for many Russians to come to Christ during this crisis and war.
Pray also for the people going through what is perhaps the strongest sanctions in recent history. I can’t imagine what that would be like.
Pray for the families that sadly will be notified their child were killed in war. Now that I’m a parent I can’t imagine what that must be like.
Pray also for peace. Pray too the conflict doesn’t expand that would then hurt more people whether Russians, Ukrainians and other countries.

I needed this reminder. I have been praying for Ukraine since the invasion began but it never occurred to me that the Russians need prayer just as much as the Ukrainians.
I think we all need that reminder. And for those who are more pro-Russian they too need to be reminded to pray for Ukraine; have a blessed Lord’s Day brother Clyde!
Amen 🙏
In all these sad developments we mustn’t lose sight of the bigger picture. China and Iran are encouraged by what they are seeing developing in Europe, Ukraine may be just the beginning of wider conflicts which could reach Israel in the future.
True this conflict can become wider than what it is now and even head toward Middle East and towards Israel. I’m surprised at how global this conflict has become with countries in Asia, and Australia donating funds to Ukraine and other goods. This conflict hasn’t escaped my thoughts for even more than an hour, and prayers seems all I can do for all the people In both these countries. God bless you for praying!
Praying.
I am glad you are a prayer warrior
Same to you.
We should always be interceding for our whole world. But, let us not lose sight of reality nor the fact the Bible must be fulfilled.
The tetchy relationship between Russia and Israel is a real factor in prophecy fulfillment I think; there are Russian forces only just over a 135+ miles from Jerusalem in Syria, and Israel is an opponent of Russia in the natural gas world economy looking to expand its customer base into Europe.
Yes we must not lose sight of the Word
I am praying brother. Thanks for the reminder. Blessings for a stunning day of ministry to God’s people. God is with you.
🙏🙏🙏
Praying
Encouraged to hear that James, have a blessed Lord’s Day today
Yes indeed brother, praying for the Russian people and soldiers. May the Holy Spirit stir their conscience and heart. Praying for the families who are cut off from the media now.
Let’s link arms together and cry out to God.
Love how you said it “Let’s link arms together and cry out to God.” LInking with you through prayers to God our Father. I imagine your church today will be praying about all of this
I don’t know what’s going on in this conflict, but it is always good to pray for others. May we all see the Lord and be in joyful shock that leads to praise when we do so.
The information we are given is so one-sided we don’t really know the truth. More reason to pray for discernment and God’s will to be done.
Indeed that is a strong and compelling reason to pray

Good exhortation! I have been praying for the Russian people as well. Yes, they will suffer as well due to this insanely evil invasion.
Sometimes it seems we can do little but pray; but then I’m reminded that prayer is not our last resort but our lasting resource!
Amen!
I have been thinking recently of how in the New Testament christians we’re dispersed from their community and regions because of their new found faith in Christ. We read that as they traveled they shared the gospel! I am praying that Ukrainian Christians who are fleeing the war and heading to Poland and elsewhere will be bold enough to do the same. And the church grows amid persecution!
Wow I will for this too for the refugees who are Christians
And pray that Vladimir Putin comes to Christ for Salvation.
Reblogged this on RG's 2 Cents Studios.
Also pray for the Russians who are protesting against the Ukraine Invasion. The police are arresting protestors in Russia.
I been hearing about that in Russia. Praying
Amen. In prayer.

Thanks for this take, on it. Rev. David Robertson talks about the poor during any of these things, COVID, wars, natural disasters. The sanctions may be “targeting” the rich, but the rich have their way of breaking even while the poor lose. And I have heard the news and read about Russian soldiers refusing to target where civilians may be in danger (not always, but happening according to the reporter). Russians are also affected while the Russian rich and powerful gain riches and power.
This was heavily in my mind as I was praying for Russia. With war and sanctions it always seems civilians get effected very negatively before the elites and decision makers gets effected. Thank you for your comment for saying what was so hard for me to put to words when I wrote this post. Thank you lots for this Mark
You are welcome. Thanks for writing this.
Amen !
I have been praying for both countries.
God bless you pastor Jim.
Encouraging to hear your prayers for both countries! We must not forget to pray for both!
