For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Pray the War would not expand to other Countries.
Last week’s post was Pray for Russia. The week before the Sunday’s post was on Pray for Ukraine. But with everything going so crazy it might be good to pray it does not grow bigger. And the more countries involved the more the blood shed spreads.
I have been praying every day in light of the war. For this Lord’s Day I think I’m also going to pray it doesn’t escalate and drag more countries. Also I’m praying it doesn’t become a case where NATO is dragged into war with Russia; both being a nuclear power is scary to me.
Let us pray.

Amen Jim…The winds of war have been picking up everywhere. The spiritual side of the battle needs “night Vision” lens in this spreading darkness for all of us. We are not to be bystanders. We must enter the fray on our knees.

Yeah there is a lot of misinfo from both sides. I have reservations about Ukrainian list of Russian losses and when I watch RT before it stop working two days ago on YT I felt it also kept saying it’s only a special operation. But I digress! Good exhortation. Putin has stated in the past, without equivocation, that he desires to restore Russian “hegemony” over Eastern Europe. Conservative Russians back Putin 100% in this goal.
Wow I’ve been disturbed with some of the things Putin has done say. Tangent question: I felt when I was in the Marines Poland’s military really grew professionally and in terms of experience and its one of Europe’s better military right now. Did they had a strong military in the past too???

You raise an interesting question. Poland regained its independence from Soviet domination in 1989. So there was a process in which the Polish military disengaged from the Soviet Union and its other Warsaw Pact allies. I don’t know if there was a vetting/purge of Polish military officers who had eagerly supported the Pact. It would be interesting to find out. Poland’s #1 aim following independence was to beef up its military and to join NATO in response to the looming threat of a resurgent Russia. The Kaczyński brothers and their Law and Justice Party used the Russian threat to forge closer ties with the US and spend a bigger and bigger share of the national budget on the military. Twenty years ago, I thought the Kaczyńskis were stoking paranoia for political purposes, but Putin’s invasion of Ukraine proves they were 100% correct. I would enjoy reading a book about the transformation of Poland’s military following 1989, but such a book would be of interest to so few.

I wrote a lengthy comment on Bruce’s repost of this piece, which I won’t repeat here. Just that we should pray first and foremost for the salvation of souls. We should pray for an end to this war. (Who knows? Our prayers may delay what the Bible predicts is coming, but sooner or later judgment will come. Meanwhile, human souls are priority to God, and they will remain in their eternal destiny long after all the nations of this world will be destroyed.
