For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Encourage Someone who travel far to go to church.
These days it seems its hard to find a sound Bible church. Sometimes people have to travel quite a distant to go a Bible believing Gospel preaching church.
If you go to one no doubt I imagine there are some who travel very far to attend a sound church. Maybe there’s not sound churches near them. Maybe they have benefited from the teaching ministry in the church since it is biblically faithful.
Whatever the case, if reading this post reminds you of anyone at your church, be intentional to let them know how encouraged you are to see them attend church. Tell them.
It might teach you the importance of things you might take for granted at church. Nothing is ever promise tomorrow or next week. So be intentional and thankful and encouraging towards others today at church.

What a great idea. Thanks for the insight.
We travel ten miles each way (maybe 9 miles one way and eleven the other, but better roads) to get to a church that is semi-conservative, conservative in preaching but session highly questionable. But in the PCUSA, you are one change in pastors away from heresy, or so it seems. We pass countless churches along that route, either liberal or so small that they would do anything to survive.
Hmmm.. I hear you.
Wow thanks for sharing that. How long have you been going to your church, I imagine it’s for years
22 years. This Sunday a few kids graduated high school, and were honored, kids that we saw get baptized. To go there, we left a conservative church turned liberal by the pastor.
May we be encouraging and thankful for those who worship with us.
Amen Frank! Amen
I guess the most we ever had to do was an hr. or so. You do what ever you have to do.
Amen to this: “ You do what ever you have to do.”. How far do you have to travel to church these days?
Amen, Slim! True story, I used to drive a ways to get to church and often prayed about wanting church to be closer. Then our church got evicted and the only place available was right near my house! Sometimes you can just cast your cares on the Lord, forget all about it, and He makes everything work out.
Wow the Lord really moved things to answer that one! Praise God! Man thanks for sharing that
Good exhortation! I hope we can find a good church after I retire. Western New York is part of the anti-Bible Belt.
I pray for that for your retirement. Yes brother I am praying for that. Speaking of western NY, Did you hear about the shooting in Buffalo??
Thanks, brother!
RE: Buffalo shootings
Yeah, I see the shooter is 18YO and had posted racist manifestos online. The culture is declining into violence. When I stopped at the grocery on the way home last night there was a very noticeable security presence.
Reblogged this on a simple man of God and commented:
We have a few families in our congregation who drive an hour or more to come to church, some of the most godly people we know.. They drive for a good, biblical church, and we love having them.
Daniel
Also, one of those families baptized two of their children today! (One is about to be in my youth group this next year.)
Wow praise God! What age group do you teach in your youth group?
6th-12th grade. Their kids (3-11 years old) have been in our children’s ministry for 2 years (guess when they started coming …), and their older daughter is the one moving up. She and her brother (10) said their parents’ teaching and the lessons they got, especially from Daniel and Caitlin, at church helped them see their need for a Savior and to put their faith in Jesus.
This is such a true post and one that I try to be mindful of! Two of the youths in my Arabic teens group, they travel 3 hours round trip to come on Saturday evenings. I tell them I am humbled by their commitment to come and how much they mean to Jesus and me. I was stunned the first Sunday I was in Freetown, Sierra Leone and how far folks walked or drove to come to church. What a blessing and this should be encouraged and an example to follow. Thank you for this! Praying for your sermon!!!! Love and blessings to you and your family!!!
Wow that is encouraging the examples you Shared from the Arabic Church to Sierra Leone in Africa. Thanks for your prayers for the sermon!! How was the service today?
It was a beautiful service along with a beautiful day for my mom’s birthday!!!! What piece of armor did you preach on today?!
Amen.
Our own encouraging words invite and welcome others to a faithful, Gospel-led church. Blessings to all believers who share the Good News.
