For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Pray for those who are doing more work at church while others are gone during the Summer.
Summer is often a time people take vacations or long breaks from the routine. Its a time some churches might not have as many people around during Sunday. And that means more tasks upon others to carry them out in serving God.
Last year I wrote a post on This Sunday at Church: Find out whether you can be a Substitute for someone while they are on Vacation but I also realize there might be roles one might not be able to fulfill especially with certain offices with certain qualifications and also those spiritual gifts that are not what one possess. Still one can still pray for those who are doing the work of being a substitute or being the sole believer fulfilling that role during the Summer.
For example: A church might have a worship band. But since others are on vacation one person leads. You might not be able to sing or play an instrument. But you can still pray for the person’s strength and wisdom and motivation to be right in serving. You can pray they not get discouraged or burn out. Pray for their joy in serving God!
Very important. We can all pray, and maybe step up our game a notch while those that regularly serve are on vacation. Thanks
Amen it is an opportunity to step up and be stretched to serve in different ways!!
I am praying with you. Thanks for the God inspired suggestion.
Shalom!
May we all have joy in serving the Lord in praise and thanksgiving.
Amen may we have joy serving

I can relate. It seems most of our worship team goes camping on the same weekend, with their families (who work the sound booth), and guess who gets to lead worship? 😳
Wow something similar happen like that too with our ministry! Do you lead worship when they are out??
Yes, Jimmy, about once a year. Here are a few stories about those odd Sundays:
Good exhortation! This has me thinking about looking for a church.
I wish you can come to our local church! But we are at the other side of the US!
Thanks! I know I would enjoy the preaching and fellowship at your church! I think I would get a little perplexed though if you asked me to read aloud a Bible passage with my “big-boy voice.” 😊
Speaking of that, I just checked my Sermon Audio app and I see you uploaded “Christian in an age of active shooter” in June. I will check that out.
If a church have 60 percent serving that’s already an amazing church
Excellent reminder! Years ago when I lived in a small community in Montana, many were willing to pitch in when others were away during the summer. Several, myself included, filled the pulpit when our pastor was enjoying a well-deserved vacation.
Thank your family thank you amen
Thank you for this post SlimJim ☺️. I know that I need to pray for others more. It is a constant encouragement when you know that others are praying for you.
